Basenotes says...

The "Garden of Stars" series is intended to reach out to both consumers who are fans and those that do not like the original Angel.
Angel is a Woody-Foody scent with no floral notes -- this new range intends to 'floralize' the scent. The three fragrances are Violet Angel, The Lily Angel and Peony Angel.

Well this scent showed me how hormones or neurotransmitter levels can play on your percieving a scent. At the first try i was very sure that angel pivoine is a nasty scent that all notes kill or spoil eachother and the result is a dirty medicinal floral chocolate mess. But after a month at the second chance i was able to smell the lovely pivoine and smooth aromatic base. ıt even become usable for me.

This Peony Angel is wearable!!! The original Angel, along with the Violet and Lily versions are simply too sweet for my chemistry or liking. Taking out the overpowering chocolate, caramel berry notes and adding the gentle flower bouquet makes this scent GREAT for me!

A pretty decent variation on the Angel theme. But ultimately pointless and joyless. I didn't enjoy as much as I'd have like. Strictly for the hard-core Angel fan.

My fave of all the Garden of Stars collection (along side the Rose Angel). It's spicey, sexy and pretty, all the things that Angel should be! Also, i'm surprised that noone has mentioned how beautiful the Garden of Stars bottles are, they really are striking!!

As a fan of the original Angel i love it and I always like the peony note, the mix of the two is perfect but def. this is a most girly version of the original one, pity doesn´t work on my skin ...

I bought this for my mother, who was previously a wearer of Angel Innocent. Neither of us can pull off the original Angel, as we find it much too strong. This is a much more palatable gourmand, in my opinion, with peonies being the best complement to the Angel composition. I do enjoy Le Lys, however, but I prefer the Peony Angel to all other Garden of the Stars fragrances. I find that like in Dune by Dior, this fragrances masters the art of blending peonies so that they do not stand out on their own. Usually, peony fragrances carry a strong resemblance to rose fragrances in their sweetness and strength. However, this peony prefers a supporting role.
