When first applied, Very Irresistible is very minty and piney to me. As it dries down I feel as if the scent wants to be three different baked goods at once: nut bread, praline or some kind of chocolate. So now we have a mint chocolate pastry with nuts and it's being washed down with a cup of coffee. Soudns like my mornings! Try the Fresh version, they cleaned up the oddities in this concoction.

The title "Very Irresistable" is a clear sign that Givenchy have a strong sense of irony. Very Irritating, or Very Irrelevant might have been a a more pertinent title for something so non-descript. A fusion of vague coffee and mint notes that fails to evolve is the entree, main course and dessert in this pointless McFragrance.

This one makes me think that the gourmand category grants easier access to "instant winner" for many. That's what Givenchy thought when they made this lesser L'Instant. No need to be that original. Pass the chocolate soap.

Looks like a bottle of bootleg absinthe.

Thought the scent was great in the store, then a friend told me I smelled like food. I now wear it washing the car, etc.

still starts off with that l'instant opening and ends with minor sillage. a good silly boyish fragrance. not to be taken serious but sorta like the class clown.

the initial waft of mint seems to ride the subtle waxiness of the grapefruit peel note straight into the hazlenutty mocha. whilst this manages to not smell entirely cacophonous and clashing, it is really rather synthetic in feel, and can be just a little 'vomitty' to me. i also don't really enjoy gourmands, and whilst this isnt viciously sweet, the chocolate note is too much like a chocolate bar left in the warm sun. yuck.

as has been previously mentioned, the head and heart notes of this do indeed seem to arrive all at once, but then within ten minutes all that is left on my skin, and indeed it remains almost exactly the same for hours after, is a very pleasant generic accord, masculine and synthetic and lightly woody, with a very faithful light pine, like your fingers after you carry a christmas tree, and perhaps the faintest (very very faint) of anise/herbal notes, like cold dill.
the nutty mocha element is still vaguely present too at times, but ultimately i have to ask myself: do I want to smell like somebody spilt a Starbucks on the wooden top of the fragrance counter?

i'll be honest, i've smelt FAR worse. at first interesting but sickly and dischordant, afterwards a fairly superlative generic.
very irresistible? i can manage...

When I first put it on, all I can smell is a sort of pine scent mixed with chocolate. This is what attracted me to this fragrance from the start because I haven't really encountered anything with this sort of combination in the top notes. This melts away to a more woodsy middle and base notes that last on me all day.
My wife didn't like it at first because I put too much on and she said it smelled a little too much like bug repellent. But once I toned it down a bit, it has become more tolerable to her. This is one of my go-tos for most occasions. I've been asked what it is on several occasions by some female friends of mine because they were intrigued by the combination of scents in the fragrance.

Some have said that instead of this, you should use GIT. I disagree in that GIT and VI are two different animals and other than the green notes; they have totally different dry downs. But I must say, this is a fragrance that you should try sparingly and definitely check to see how it works with your skin type before committing to it.

Unfortunately, on me the fragrance was aromatic (fresh) then oriental. No woody, coffee, chocolate, sweet or unusual scents at all. Did have the oriental/aromatic mixture which was invigorating and pleasant, but not sure if worth the high price considering the stay was medium/low. Sorry, very plain on my skin, and I would not buy based on price. 4-5/10

Since I bought this one I have changed my mind about it. The topnotes are great but then it waters down to a mellow boring green fragrance. I change to neutral on this one.

Apprealing if a desert- chocolates or icecream for instance- smelled like this, but for a perfume, especilly a male one, inspite of todat's interest for increasingly sweet, unisex, light and experimental scents, it is far to edible. More precisely, after the vapid first impressions of floral and fruity tones are gone, the on;ly impression that remains is of hazelnut spread or chocolate filled with hazelnut spread, maybe a bit of cinammon flavoured coffee or milk-shake. Would work much better in a kitchen, a pastry or sweets-shop. Very irresistible- maybe as an edible, not olfactory flavour. Anything else than the contemporay masculinity, both rugged and sedutive it promotes, even if not a bad or shallow scent, just a hint too weird, daring, off-beat and unmanly.

The initial spray was wonderful, minty and chocolately, unfortunately, it doesn't last very long on my skin, and the drydown isn't much to my taste.

Innovative and different from a lot of what's out there but something in this fragrance is cloying and it bothers me. Still, I congratulate Givenchy, with whom I was never able to make peace completely. I think it's the combination of the mint, the mocha, and the roasted hazlenut accord. Years ago, I was more attracted to coffee/mocha notes. It was so revolutionary. I'm not so sure anymore. This has kept me away from other gourmands too. They remind me of scratch-and-sniff children's books.

First of all they have really made a superb job with packaging and bottle, very attractive.
It starts out with some very fresh notes contrasted by heavy hazelnut coffee which creates a very weird first impression, but I like it. After a while, and I'm very surprised no one else on the boards has experienced the same, it becomes extremely reminiscent of Polo Sport! I swear, after 1-2 hours they're very hard to tell apart on my skin. This fact probably will keep me from investing in this Givenchy.

Givenchy pour Homme and Blue Label are great creations, and I have to say that I expected more. Very Irresistible for Men is too simmilar to Xeryus Rouge, actaully, it's like combination of XR and Allure.

At first spray I thought EEEEEEEEEEEK! After around 30 secs it turned inot some kind of B*Men variation, sharp, too sharp. The after about 20mins its a L'Instant Pour Homme clone! REALLY! Not 100% sure about this one yet, so far I feel its like an unrefined rather vulgar L'Instant PH.
