Cyprien fragrance notes

Reviews of Cyprien

Fragonard’s Cyprien is a wonderful fresh scent. I find a lot of those types of scents to be overly synthetic or “hollow” (Versace’s soulless Eau Fraîche is a particularly egregious example of that). However, Cyprien is a class act in that category. It starts with the expected citrus opening, here more lemon than mandarin orange. The rosemary contributes a subdued dry minty-herbal quality. The bergamot is well done, noticeable but not “Earl Grey” in presentation. The aquatic mid is actually a minor note, just a whiff of a salty freshness immediately after the opening. The wood notes are light but develop well, maintaining the interest level for a few hours. The lovely wood tones give this a casual, outdoorsy feel; yet the crisp and well-designed notes give it a bit of formality. Thus, this is a very versatile fragrance, suitable for a variety of occasions.

Excellent of my favorites. I would say this is in the same class as Bvlgari Aqva. Very light and fresh but with much more substance that Aqua Di Gio. If you are looking for a daytime/fresh scent I strongly recommend giving this one a try.

Cyprien is very summerlike, with a dominance of the mandarine note, and just a hint of the "ocean spray" and cypress. If you're longing for spring and summer, wear this! Similar to a variety of fresh, contemporary scents, but still recognisable. Very well balanced. Good longevity. Not very masculine, more metrosexual, which makes me too old to wear it, but who cares...
