This fragrance is not for me actually. I think Montale donīt get the citric vibe in this fragrance. It has an aromatic, medicinal and metalic felling but not citric (in my opinion) because the lime should have a little bit of freshness that this scent donīt have.

Donīt get me wrong, this is a good fragrance for aromatic and metallic fragrances lovers. The develope of this scent is very progressive and it finish with a comfortable sandalwood note mixed with oud and spices. I like the drydown after 3 or 4 hours but as I said this fragrance is not for me actually.

The scent of a fresh lime is one of the great smells. The smell of cheap lime aftershave, not so great. If there is any way in which lime is represented in this scent it might be a resemblance here and there to the cheap aftershave. There is certainly none of the freshness and succulence of a fresh lime. So what's the lime thing all about? Of course this is from a (great) company that named another scent Chocolate Greedy.

As for the aoud, I like Indian food. There is a chutney that is put on the table at many restaurants. Its is dark brown, always has 1/2 of some sort of fruit in it which is inedible and has hard skin. The chutney is salty, sour and pungent and aromatic. Perhaps it is some sort of tamarind concoction. Anyway, this stuff - the aoud - smells much like the chutney.

Then it turns to rose. I do detect some patchouly I believe, but mostly aoud and rose. I don't care for the aoud/rose accord, though I know it is a favorite in some parts of the world.

Well made for what it is. I would never be caught dead smelling like this.

Starts off with a very medicinal explosion which settles down within the hour to a fabulous rose and lime -like smokey scent . By the second hour its in to its stride and keeps the pace up over the next umpteen hours . i appliedd 2 sprays just over 9 hours ago and i can still smell it wafting up quite clearly . Very unusual indeed . It doesnt evolve much on my skin but thats just fine as i love the smell i get. It stays mildly medicinal ( medicated elastoplast-ish) throughout its long run with the rose et al taking the forefront . Would i buy a full bottle ? ....Oh look i already have ! . Love it

EXOTIC. Anyone who has worn Amouage Jubilation XXV should have no problem spotting some similarities in AOUD LIME, the Montale eschewing the Amouage's sweet plum-like cloak for a drier, starkly sour one. Apart from the occasional rose nuances, the composition imparts on my skin a rich, darkly smoky yet evolving aroma.

Forget the somewhat arbitrary naming conventions favored by Montale. Lime or no lime, this is one helluva addictive stuff! It's too bad the 'Black Aoud' name has been taken for in my mind this would have fit the bill better.

For anyone (including myself) who find Black Aoud to be amazing but can't stand its huge rose note on the skin, Aoud Lime could be a valid alternative. To the typical Montale's opening has been added strident lime note that while lurking in the back it remarkably declares its presence working as an ultrasonic whisper. The strong medicinal aroma juxtaposed to the lime's acidic freshness is pretty weird indeed but absolutely compelling to my nose. After an hour or so, the rose note makes its appearance but it's not overwhelming or as prominent as it is in Black Aoud. It's instead well blended with patchouli and oud to create an amazing accord that is going to last for quite a while. In the meantime, in the very background, I still get the fascinating juxtaposition of lime but in this phase it sounds more like someone who's playing a thirteenth on the main accord in another room. Amazing.

Surely not an easy wear for its intensity and weirdness, but still a great composition. Well Done.

A distinctly phased challenging composition that opens with a paroxysm mollified by herbs & flowers, roused with exotic spice & ultimately palliated by precious woods.

Aoud Lime starts upon a discordant pairing of bright acidic effervesence with an eucalyptoid oud that disquiets & invigorates. In minutes what once gave the impression of citrus now smells of rose while preserving the flourescence of lime. Saffron warms the mentholated opening & spices the rose, patchouli is present but restrained. Byakudan sandalwood lies beneath these elements & persists long after they're gone.
