Personally, I can detect more amber than patchouli in this!

The opening notes of amber and mint smell like a cross between Piper Nigrum (but with the mintiness lasting a lot longer) and Ambre Sultan (but less harsh and medicinal). Since I wasn't too keen on these two, this seemed like a good compromise. However, the déjà vu continued into the drydown.

Although this is a deep, resinous and warm scent (which was surprisingly enjoyable to wear) it soon developed into a rawer, slightly sharper and intense version of Tauer’s L'Air du Desert Marocain. As I already own this Tauer creation, I really can’t see this as bottle-worthy (and nor would I consider it to be superior). However, amber lovers may find something very appealing in this.

I got a sample of this last august and wore it almost everyday that autumn while walking my dog in the swedish woods. This smells like the woods. Sweet, dry, powerful, earthy, serene. And it has the most beautiful deep brown colour. However, there is a lot of amber here. A LOT. Sometimes it resembles Ambre Sultan a bit too much. Not enough patchouli for me but still a very beautiful fragrance that works amazing is the autumn.

Very dry and woody, like cinnamon bark. I was expecting some sweetness from the vanilla, musk and amber but I get none. Or, perhaps, a slight dark, syrupy touch like Wood & Spices, but somehow it manages to stay so very dry even with that touch of sweetness. I also get a hint of mint, something cool and refreshing that balances the sweet touch into that neutral dryness. Not a bad scent but a little onedimensional.

Patchouli Patch meets Amber Extreme. This stuff smells like it's loaded to the brim with amber! The more it dries down the more the clean, dressed up patchouli a la Patchouli Patch shows up. It smells pretty nice overall, but given how much amber I smell here I would rather just have an amber fragrance.

Patchouli Leaves macerated for two years in the trunk of the oak tree combine with vanilla, amber and white musk on a base of Cystus ladaniferus from Tibet.

At first time it remembers cough-drops or some other medicine. For me it's a warm, vintage, smell that call up recollections of past.
