Pure White Linen is a very, very light scent that briefly calls to mind the classic White Linen, and then disappears. My skin simply cannot hold onto this stuff, which is faint to begin with. It's fresh and pretty. I don't smell any citrus or sweetness. With all the notes listed I thought it may be complex, but to me it's pure "air notes". It's been very hot here, so maybe this will be better in cooler weather.

The top notes on this scent make me very unhappy. I find them way too heady, way too perfumey. I love the heart notes--they are warm and lovely. But the beginning makes me never put this perfume on.

Every once in a while, after searching high and low for a new holy-grail scent to worship, something unexpected happens: A scent you'd never imagine giving the time of day to--perhaps it's just not usually your thing or it's worn by so many, that you think it might be unnappealing due to overexposure--suddenly gets its chance to take the lead. In a fit of exhaustion, you try this forgotten possiblity and voila; your senses come alive with newfound excitement...the sheer simplicty of the unexpected takes hold.

"Pure White Linen" is exactly that scent. Linen-smelling crispness and velvety, tart smoothness feels tranquil and refreshing when compared to the sultry and aggressive nature of orientals and chypres."Pure White Linen" is a surprisingly elegant and pleasant scent. It's the perfect thing to wear to the office(no more offensive than laundry detergent--but far more refined)and safe enough for gift giving: It's bright, smooth freshness.

Overall this is a very pleasant fragrance, but i feel will never reach classic status. Initially very white and flowery. Freesia and tuberose the most noticeable, but does dry down to be ever so slightly spicy with the patchouli, ginger and cardamon making their presence felt. I can understand someone likening this to fabric softener, as I did initially, but I am glad that the drydown proves this scent to be a bit more complex than one might initially think. That being said, it is not interesting enough for me to buy another bottle.

Hmmmmmmmmm, at first I thought this was a little on the powerful side. The 'air notes' and soft iris give this fruity-green-floral an aldehydic tone. Once the powderiness settles, it is a lovely melange of notes! Long lasting too. As for the base, it never fully came forth. The floral notes seem to hold on exceptionally long. As the hours passed after sampling this juice I grew to like it more. I think I'll have to try it again before knowing if I really want to add it to my wardrobe. Definitely worth another sample...

I tried this and it just lingered...It was a very busy and loud smell that never melded into my skin, but hovered offensively. The lady told me it was Estee's lightest fragrance designed to reflect Gwyneth Paltro's lifestyle. I like GP, but I don't like PWL. It smells like cheap perfume to me.

I was very scared t try this one because I really didn’t like the original, no matter how much a classic scent that one was.
This one is very nicer, all the harsh notes are softened and even if it still smells a bit like WL (it’s evident that they are related) , the whole experience is much less loud and biting.
Platrow’s “casting” was spot-on also as is the whole imagery in the ads. The scent is very light and it’s like clouds on a sunny fresh morning, it’s not overpowering at all and the longevity is ok.

I didn't imagine this could have so many ingredients in it... i think it smells really like comfort pure baby fabric softener! (not sure if you can get that outside the UK) Although one of my friends uses White Linen pure as a room spray and her house smells nice. I just prefer to smell dirty i guess...

Except for the crisp feeling Pure WL has nothing to do with the original WL.
At first spray I thought of Pleasures (I'm in a big time Pleasures phase right now), but soon the true character of the fragrance appears. First with with predominant pear notes. The heart is green yet sweet, must be the honeysuckle. The patchouli is rather contrasting at first but the earthy note becomes more harmonious within the composition after a while. Overall it reminds me of the original Lauren by Ralph Lauren.

Pure White Linen does not seem as concentrated as other Estee Lauder fragrances. The edp is more like an edt IMHO. Should be very nice layered with Jo Malone's Honeysuckle & Jasmin cologne and bath & body products.
