This is without a doubt very green but not piney green. Leaf greens. With musk. Very nice, different and full of the smell of bitter ivy. You gotta love ivy in order to really like this. Beautifully done but I'm not a fan.

I agree with JaimeB – Eau de Lierre is a significant improvement on Virgilio. It’s a very pleasant peppery-green affair that doesn’t possess so many sharp edges (nor smells dated). Although it does contain a mild floral accord, it does come across as more masculine than unisex. Unfortunately, the drydown (which I do enjoy) reminds me of one of the many fresh (and green) Creeds currently available.

A thumbs-up, regardless.

Beautiful deep green Ivy. Ivy ivy ivy. Eau de Lierre is very nice if a realistic ivy note is what you crave, otherwise it may not be your cup of tea!

This is one of my favorite "green" fragrances, providing a realistic sense of rolling around in ivy leaves. It's very linear, and longevity is not its strong point, but this can be said about nearly all the Diptyque fragrances. Frequent application is necessary to fully enjoy it, but it's worth it if you like being surrounded in foliage.

Bitter, green scent with strong spice (pepper) accent. To my nose well made. It is nicely balanced, has some projection to it, and it smells extremely natural. It obviously has a strong "green plant" vibe going on.

If "bitter", "green" and "peppery" ring your bells or if you`re a big fan of ivy, then I suggest you to get into this.

Personally, I`ll pass. Eventually it`s just a big boring "bleh" without anything intresting to get hold of. I have that same kind of problem with many other scents from this house, too.

At first it smells lively & green but the opening notes literally burnt the hairs of nose off!! It becomes quite pleasant and to my mind quite creamy. I dont know why, but this and Philosykos last all of 30 mins on me - then vanish, gone!

If you've ever wanted to smell like ivy or a tomato leaf, Eau de Lierre is the perfume for you! The pungent green stem smell is much in evidence here and methinks that Eau de Lierre's creator has perhaps spent too much time in the hot sun tending to his/her verdant garden. I mean, who really wants to smell like this? Uh, I guess the people who wear Sisley's "Eau de Campagne" (another tomato leaf opus). On a positive note, Diptyque continues to have some of the most stylish perfume bottles around due to their unquestionably chic labels.

Here are the notes, courtesy of The Perfumed Court: pepper, ivy, iris, white musk and "silky wood".

I find this vaguely reminiscent of Bond No. 9 *Gramercy Park*. On the whole, I think I prefer this one, and it's a lot less expensive, too. The ivy note is a kind of linear theme here, but the other ingredients, the cyclamen and the ambergris in particular, give this a lift on the one hand and an anchor on the other. As far as green scents go, this is a pretty good one. The other Diptyque green scent, *Virgilio*, is much more herbal; *Eau de Lierre* is smoother, a little less harsh. I think I prefer it to *Virgilio* as well.

Fresh and lively green opening, but it soon turns to a natural smelling green note— ivy— which stays linear for the run of the fragrance. I don’t get the pepper note nor do I get the water notes that are supposedly in the middle accords. The dry down smells more green to me than musky or woody. Although I find the ivy accord quite pleasant, I do not find it abundantly interesting. Everything in the fragrance is nicely done and typically Diptyque — it’s pleasant — but I’m afraid “pleasant” is the death knell of a niche fragrance. It is unusual for a Diptyque fragrance in the sense that Diptyque usually does not make fragrances this boring. Eau de Lierre is nicely green and lasts quite well but it is just too unvaried. It’s pleasant, though.

If this works on your skin, this is divine. The ivy note is predominant, and very 'true' but I wouldn't say it was a single note. The pepper comes through to add warmth, and there's very slight floral in there too.

It's unreal how similar this smells to an ivy patch. I don't particularly like the smell of ivy, but this is a high quality reproduction of it. It's very similar to Poison Ivy by Demeter.

A very BIG deep green ivy scent. Single note all the way, but it captures what those who adore ivy love most. Not for me personally , but I can see those who wish to be lost in the greenery wanting to *bathe* in this stuff. You can literally smell the waxiness of the leaves here.
