A zippy, zesty sweet lemon freshness that's perfect to throw on first thing in the morning to wake you up and get your day started. The wood and spices give it a bit of bite, keeping the fruity freshness from becoming too feminine. It's a light, young, carefree scent perfect for a warm spring or summer day. The siliage is decent without being overpowering, so it's fine to wear around the office. Best of all, unlike most fragrances, I actually get great longevity out of this. After putting it on in the morning I can still smell it well into the afternoon. Are there better, more original, fresh scents out there? Probably. But that's mostly just a matter of opinion. And since mine is the one that counts here - Thumbs Up! 08 October 2008

This is the only fragrance that I have come across that incorporates a prominent starfruit note. I love the smell of starfruit, and I love the way this fragrance smells. It has nothing to do with the original Versace Man, which is a very dark tobacco scent. This is light and airy, sweet and slightly "perfumey." Sillage is decent and longevity average. It's not very unique compared to other fresh citrusy scents, however the starfruit note is just fantastic. I highly recommend this fragrance! 29 August 2008

Odysseusm mentioned this smelling "hollow." BINGO!!! exactly what I thought. First of all, fresh fragrances are my thing. It may not be "hip" or "cool," but neither are "Opeth" or "Opie and Anthony," and I love both of them and really don't care what people think. So take it from a connoisseur of the fresh, this is empty. It's so easy to get away with a superficially pleasant fresh fragrance because fresh fragrances aren't supposed to be deep anyway, but take it from me, this really is the bottom of the barrel... well, okay, it's the worst you can get without actually becoming unpleasant. It also doesn't last very long. If you're looking for fresh, do yourself a favor and check out Allure Sport 29 August 2008

I recently bought this fragrance from a perfume shop, and I love the way this smells. Althogh I do have to agree with Pepgp, because it actually does smell like D&G Light blue feminine, and you know what even though it's a little bit in that direction. It gets a little bit more subtle and I love it. 30 July 2008

I am editing my previous review but I still give this a thumbs up. Although I'm still brushing up on my aquatics, this one seems to stand out as being a tad more complex and developmental over its lifespan - unlike many other aquatics that seem more linear to my nose. I liked it enough to buy a bottle. I'm very curious to discover the similarities mentioned with D&G light blue femme. 17 July 2008

Sillage and longivity was the death of this scent for me. I love it when it is first on and the drydown was great. But I lost it over minutes it seemed and I never could get my wife or anyone else to detect it on me. That may be the opposite of many. It is a shame too because the lightness and fresh feeling I got from it was great. 07 July 2008

Really nice fragance for a warm summer. To me its a mix of Gabbana light blue femme and Issey Miyake homme. The lasting power is also good on my skin (5-6hours) 24 June 2008

This cologne costs me $50 at Macys and I can hardly even smell it when I put it on. What gives? I first caught a wif of it in a GQ magazine and thought it was pretty good. Then I went to go buy it without trying a sample spray first. Big mistake. Honestly, after 20 minutes, it dissapears and it's pretty much like you're not even wearing any cologne anymore. Maybe it's just my body chemistry. I was just hoping that a brand name like Versace would be good, but I think I'm gonna be sticking to the U.S. brands now. Maybe your body chemistry might carry the scent better. But again after 20 minutes, the silage is non existent on me. 19 June 2008

Yep, this is fresh, like the name says. It's a nipping citrus that's airy and blows over quickly. Smells fine and works in the heat but if you like heavier fragrances then look elsewhere. 16 June 2008

I loved this on the card at the store and was so excited to find a good deal (randomly) at a grocery store. Unfortunately my love evaporated when it hit my skin.... Eau Fraiche IS strong and the sillage is good, but the top notes are, well, feminine - almost floral. The drydown is a sharper musk but the topnotes never fully recede. I personally don't like projecting my fragrance across the office and after an hour sitting at my desk I knew that's exactly what I was doing.... I went home to wash it off at lunch. That said, this is unique and unisex, 'fresh' but not weak... it's just not for me. 25 May 2008

I definitely got the lemon opening-- "summer day" smell at the top notes, but then it just disappeared on me. Don't know where it goes from there. I think it's a case of olfactory fatigue. I asked a friend and they can still smell it on my wrist. Good for them, but I like to enjoy the scent I'm wearing too. 13 May 2008

I have a confession to make. I like women’s perfume. Well, just one. Dolce & Gabanna Light Blue Pour Femme. Of course, they also make a Pour Homme version, but it’s a bunch of crap. The women’s version is definitely unisex, damn whatever their marketing department says. I was considering buying it. That is, buy a women’s perfume for myself. Thanks to Versace Man Eau Fraiche I won’t have to because it’s the same stuff in a different bottle. Why am I finding myself commenting on blatant rips as of late? That aside, the stuff really is good as a fresh scent, which I’m normally bored to tears over. It’s clean, slightly fruity with melon, citrus, and berry notes throughout, set on a base of amber and musk. I’d almost say there’s some light woods in there, but if there are it’s not a main part of the composition. That said, those top notes are present throughout, even when you’d rather they go away. Sillage is good, longevity is fair to good, I get about the standard 6 hours and then it’s faded to something pretty much unrecognizable. Still, if fresh scents are your thing and you want one that’s…*cough* unique, check this one out. 29 April 2008

This frag. was my first buy this year, and also, the frag. that started my love affair with cologne/perfume. It's definately a sweet fresh fragrance. Like candy citrus to my nose. The top notes fade quickly on me but the amber try down sure does last quite awhile on my skin. Mmmmm, amber. 14 April 2008

This Versace Man Eau Fraîche is the Man. It's nice and fresh and then fade out but does not loses its touch. Stays fresh. Thats why I like this one. I would recommend it to a friend definitely. 06 April 2008

One of my most powerful perfumes along with Joop! Homme, Paco's Black XS and JPG Le Male! It is strong, but not offensive like Joop! Homme (although I love it). Very delicious and light. Perfect for hot days. The carambola, a very traditional fruit from Brazil, is perfect and can be smelt during all notes, in my opinion. Great sillage! 19 January 2008

"Horses for Courses": This is an ideal scent for the warmer months or for the office. Clean and crisp, remains nice and fresh - but close to the skin during the dry-down. 06 December 2007

This is probably one of the most powerful fresh fragrances I've ever smelled. VERY HIGH sillage. People will smell this, so don't use too much. I like it a lot. It is very masculine and spicy/sharp (in a good way) and has a nice deep musky base with good complexity from top to bottom. Definitely a summer/spring fragrance w/ good kick to it. 02 November 2007

Awesome fragrance that is the direct counterpart for Dolce & Gabbana light Blue for women! nothing but compliments with this one. I can see why people would say it smells like Issey Miyake, but it is different enough to purchase if you own a bottle of Issey. I bought this one blind and based on the reviews on this website and the fact that I was soooo DISAPPOINTED with the new D&G Light Blue for men. Buy it; You'll love it! 20 July 2007

I own a bottle of that. This juice is very synthetic and doesn´t last long on my skin. Overall, this is an average fresh scent. It is a very good seller in Estonia along with AdG and Chanel Sport. 30 May 2007

This is unlike ANYTHING thats ever been out! The bottle is magnificent, and the juice even more so! Eau Fraiche IS what its called! I love the lemon in it, and i get alot of musk in the dry down. The sillage is AMAZING! and the life is also! On me it lasts close to 10 hours..which is a great thing since most of todays fragrances evaporate quicker than app. time. Thumbs LOVE it.. so does my dresser! 29 May 2007

ok, first of all, anyone who should ever say that this one is similar to l'eau d'issey must be utterly demented. i ask of you would you also think that le male by j-p gaultier is similar to a*men? i probably would...or that bulgari's aqua is similar to acqua di gio? =)) anyway..if this frag should ever be compare to some other one, it should most definitely be rabanne's black xs..i mean you should be smell-impaired not to note the similarity. a very nice fragrance, both of them actually.. very light, optimistic...quite zen fragrance...just like issey miyake (sic!) i'd not recommend this without testing it on the skin first, though... don't let yourself be fooled by the citrusy opening...this so-called "fresh" fragrance becomes quite ambery towards it's base. this was called "eau fraiche" because it's a much lighter version of versace man. it's not something for you all pathetic acqua di gio freaks out there, although versace IS your next-in-line, isn't it? lol 11 May 2007

To keep it simple, this stuff isn't great and you'll end up with a headache after a while when you get sick of smelling it. Sprayed myself with it at Macys after a purchase one night, I couldn't wait to go wash it off. I recieved another sample of it when i bought another bottle and instantly gave it to my little brother who bathes in Candies before he leaves the house at night. Save your money, there is much better out there... 09 May 2007

really nice fragance in the vein of light blue for her, without problems this could be the male version , so , for those Ligth blue D & G lovers, this is an option.. 25 April 2007

Fresh. Lemony. Think Issey Miyake L'eau d'iseey but more lemon and sharper freshness at that. Tested this one twice, I would buy, but L'eau d'issey is too similar, nobody but I or good noses who know about fragrance would be able to distinguish, to be honest. Lasts long. Sillage is good. Nice safe scent. I like it. Perfect summer cologne. 19 April 2007

lightweight, which is not bad if you're after that. I think the younger consumer will find it attractive but certainly not a fragrance for those searching for perfume nervana. 17 April 2007

This did not impress me. From the name, I thought it would be summery, and I admit, it opens that way. To me, it reminded me in a very nice way of a gin and tonic with lime. But very quickly, it dried down into a woodsy, leathery scent. Sticking my nose right against my wrist, it smelled of hours old Armani Code or John Varvatos. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but it would be a shocker if you bought it after that first blast. 14 April 2007

Versace’s Eau Fraîche has a hollow quality: it is like biting into the hard shell of a mint, only to find nothing but air inside. I attribute that to the synthetic note which is very strong. A reviewer called it “laundry detergent on an aluminum counter,” I say something similar, lemon kool-aid dried in a tin can. Herbal middle? Not what I call ‘herbal.’ Freshly-ironed shirt... ho-hum. Nothing to get enthusiastic about, not a single note of beauty here! A rather soulless modern ‘fresh’ scent that is vaguely unpleasant at times. Try Jacques Fath’s classic Green Water for an authentically bracing experience, don’t settle for these modern robotic concoctions! 10 April 2007

This is an absolutely amazing fragrance, and I have never been told otherwise while wearing it! It is wonderfully fresh, masculine, and extremely sexy. It is nothing like Raid, and nothing like Issey Miyake. If anything I would have to say it reminds me of a men’s version of Light Blue by Dolce. It is a perfect fragrance for summer, and wears wonderfully from day to night! 09 April 2007

I don't understand the negative reviews for this. This is a well done frag. I am a fan of dry, woody or smoky scents, this is a dry fresh scent. i don't know what the regular versace man smells like, but this si good stuff. smells NOTHING like Drakkar like someone mentioned, neither does it smell like Raid or Lanvin L'homme. It's more like a cleaned up version of CK One electric. Very clean, very fresh plucked leaves that transitions into the synthetic aluminum thingy evryone else is talking about, but it is still nice. highly reccomended. 31 March 2007

Hmmmm, this is the first time I tried any fragrances at Nordstrom(I'm a Macys person). The cool looking bottle caught my attention then I smelt it and it smelt amazing!! I liked it so much I didn't bother trying anything else! I tried some on my skin and took a sample home!! It smells much like the womens fragrance "I Love Love" but it's more masculine. A very fresh citrus summer scent but I'll be wearing this all year long. Very good one:) 10 December 2006

This is quite an attractive fresh fragrance—for as long as it lasts, that is. It opens with citrus and rosewood. I don’t get a lot of syrupy fruit and it seems to me to be extremely clean and clear and attractive. It is a touch synthetic, but I am not at all bothered by this particular note. The middle makes use of cedar and herbs to keep the fresh aromatic feeling going. The base is a light wood and musk with amber for a touch of sweetness. In spite of the synthetic feel, I enjoy this fragrance while it is there. It gets a thumbs’ down because its longevity is abysmal: I’m talking minutes—like about thirty minutes from application to ‘Where did it go?' 04 December 2006

Good casual stuff, easy to wear fragrance. A soapy, clean, almost puristic start, reminding- as in many fine aquatic and ozonic scents of good quality cream, soap or shower gel, all over the same pleasant but not spectacular hints of Aloe, mint and cocoa butter. Antispeptic quality too, yet without smelling quite like medicine, rather like green tea and even tarragon, also listed as an ingredient is quite easy to recognize among its notes. The final touch is powdery, slightly grassy and herbal- maybe vetyver and also woody, however a rather light than overtly masculine, dark, heavy woody touch. 29 August 2006

It seems the lemon note is the main one, as it stays for more than 5 hours since I applied for first time. Appears to have some aromatic notes (maybe the tarragon, sage or another spice leaves) but I didnt's feel woody notes as a base on it. A citric fragrance, aimed for summer use, 20-35 years old range. 10 June 2006
