Sweet, light, simple and boring. I smell an unidentifiable sugary/powdery accord that almost completely fails to interest me. There is a hint of creamy nuttiness to it, if you concentrate, but other than that, there just doesn't seem to be anything behind it. I don't smell any chocolate.

Its not so bad but the main problem is very obvious : As a biggest possible fan of A*Men I find this to be very unnecessary after all since it is far inferior to that Mugler masterpiece.

Actually at first I thought that Cannabis Santal smells a lot like one of the A*Men’s side product – Body spray.

The thing I like about CS is that it has ability to remind me of few other scents; not just that A*Men. It has also bit similarities to scents such as Black XS, Hanae Mori for Men, Rochas Man and Angel (for women.) So it is fairly nuanced scent in this wise.
And still I can’t help myself from thinking that this is somewhat very cheap smelling fragrance. It has a weird deo spray vibe to it – like I said I thought it smells a lot like a body spray of A*Men. Also the fact that this is eventually some sort of copycat; it doesn’t smell original at all despite those nuances that led me to think few different fragrance.
And then, the whole marketing concept with cannabis is just a joke: This doesn’t smell like cannabis even for starters. It’s just a cheap gimmick.

To my nose Cannabis Santal smells mostly like a mixture of lavender, patchouli and fruits, low concentrated dark chocolate, hint of strawberry and vanilla musks.
I can recommend you may sample this if you’re a fan of gourmands, but keep in mind that there are better ones available, even if you’re not a fan of A*Men like me…

Like I said in the beginning, this is not that bad fragrance at all; it can be even quite entertaining in times, but I can’t see a single reason why would I want to get me a full-size bottle of this.

Ok, I don't smell any cannabis here, which is probably a good thing. It opens with candy-sweet bergamot, mixed with the slight smell of orange peels and rose petals, it then moves on to a chocolate under-tone with vanilla on top of that and a slight patchouli stench. I gave this to my dad for christmas and he didn't like the patchouli, so he returned the scent. I however, don't find this patchouli to be offensive and I feel like it blends perfectly with the other notes to accomplish this mysterious cannabis-like aroma. Great unisex scent that would be perfect for spring days.

Vanilla cake gourmand fragrance. It smells good - alot of things do, but as for a body fragrance, its no good. I find this the case with many niche fragrances.

I have to say I agree with everyone else who said that this absolutly doesn't smell a thing like cannabis (and I live in hippie-heaven Berkeley, so I should know...). Early, it smells to me like white roses and chocolate. Funny, the first day I wore this, quite a few hours after putting it on, a co-worker commented that I smelled like cupcakes. Sure enough, the rose was gone and all that was left was a creamy amber mixed with vanilla, the combination of which basically smelled like buttery white frosting. Unlike some of the other reviews I've seen on this site, I like scents that smell like food, so I like it...

I'd say this is a very decent "A*Men Light"-esque frag without comprimise. Love the patchouli in this. Most of the time is ends up smelling like a heml shop (as the name of the fragrance actually blantanly hints at). I enjoy this one.

Cannabis Santal by Fresh – the search for truth. Personally I think it should have been named Chocolate Patchouli by Orange. The main thing I smell in the opening is the chocolate, orange, and patchouli – it sounds like it would be a good accord, but it smells to me very amorphously fruity sweet – this is not the kind of accord I desire on my body, and it smells like a couple thousand other fragrances of the recent past, except that the chocolate is very well done, and I can determine no synthetic vibrations to the ingredients. The chocolate fades out rather quickly leaving only a patchouli fruit accord. How do you spell B-O-R-I-N-G?

Fresh? I do realize that Fresh is the name of the fragrance company, but they are the ones that chose the name and I’m holding them to it: This is in no way a fresh fragrance.

Cannabis? Once or twice I thought I smelled cannabis, but those could have been flashbacks. There isn’t a significant cannabis note in this, or if it is, it is hidden from my nose under the amorphous fruity accord, which also has a strange sort of tobacco vibe.

To complete the research into the mislabeling of the fragrance, I start looking for the sandalwood. Gave it up quickly because I soon realized it would be an endless search...

Bogart pour Homme and A*men, after a night of forbidden passion, produce a gorgeous child. The child is born without A*men's disgusting burnt tar notes -- fortunately, that gene wasn't passed on.

Because the couple had smoked some ganja and eaten some fruit during their first night of connubial bliss, the kid smelled ever so slightly of pot and plums. Roses adorned his cradle.

All was well in Stork Land.

I get absolutely no chocolate in this, maybe my nose just isn't refined enough. All I smell is cotton candy, and I'm not a fan of the smell of cotton candy.

This is very intriguing. There is a sharp fruit/green opening juxtaposed by rich gormand aspects like chocolate nutty vanilla (especially on the skin, this hazlenut comes forward). I couldn't agree more with the comparison to Angel (it waffles between recalling aspects of both the men's and women's versions). It is very complex but in the end warm, rich, and comfortable. I own A Men so I didn't buy it but when I run out I think I'll replace it with this.

Cannabis Santal is a scent that I'm still trying to decide if I like or not. I detect no notes of chocolate, strawberries, plum, magnolia, or rose at all.

The main note is a rich, buttery scent (I assume that it's the cannabis) that stays constant while wearing this. It's slightly heavy.

It's a very interesting scent to say the least! "Cannabis Santal" is not a terrible scent, it's just not as special as it could have been.

I bought a decant after testing and liking this at my local Neiman Marcus. On close sniffspection, it opens sweet, the orange and plum instantly give off its gourmand impression, a dry note of chocolate and patchouli gives off, which instantly reminds me of the women's version of Angel, even more so when I get this hazelnutty smell, which is probably the beginnings of the Cannabis 'bud' accord, where it eases itself in line with the tender green sweetness of rose--a peppery-dry paper sort of impression as an undercurrent. A fresh vetiver note seems to be the prominent note at the base, the vanilla and musk only lending itself to give body to the scent and a gourmand beginning. I think a full bottle is in order! I think it's one of the best creations of 2006.

Cannabis Santal is Rochas Man meets ashtray. It is one of the few fragrances that gives me nausea. (the others are Caron puH and Versace Dreamer).

this fragrance is a perfect example of how seasonality (weather and mood) affect olfactory perception. i bought this scent last spring, when it was getting warm (60's-70's), yet remained jackety, here in nyc. back then, from beneath the earthy acridity of the cannabis accord came through the warmth of the gourmand basenotes: arresting the two in a dizzyingly pleasurable tension. what made this so wonderful was that it allowed me to smell chocolatey, but not overly so: the gourmand sweetness was pierced through with an earthiness that itself seemed to correspond with the renewing springtime vegetation...... that was last spring. now, however, in the dead of an urban winter, i'm not getting the warmth, the bottom of chocolate, anymore. i'm only getting an acridity that doesn't make much sense to me right now. i absolutely LOVE this scent, but only in the spring and fall: it's not warm enough for the winter or fresh enough for the dead of summer. at least for me. lastly, many a late-night model has melted at the combination of this scent on my neck and Fresh's "Fleurs de Chocolat" on my wrist pulse points. what a combination! but, uh, i *think* this is my little secret. in case it is, please, feel free to use it....only FAR AWAY from nyc.....

This is one of my favorites, and I say this as a relative newcomer so caveat emptor.

The feeling I get from wearing this is of a warm fireplace-heated room in the Scottish highlands. It's snowing outside, I'm drinking cocoa and someone's passing around a joint.

This is a definite A+.

I'm in love! I have tried this once only and enjoyed every moment of it and must have more. Deep and tasty throughout, it makes me realize that I just might like gourmand scents, though I wouldn't classify this as strictly gourmand. I get no cannabis at all, except for a certain resinous-herbaceousness (is that a word?) I like this for a rainy, gloomy day, but I think one could easily pull it off in hotter weather as well. Definitely unisex (but I think most fragrances are, anyway).

I just got this for my boyfriend for his birthday. I really love this scent. The theme is very sweet... plum, patchouli, chocolate and sandalwood, yet it remains masculine.

I recently bought this at Sephora thinkin, "hmmmmm... interesting". I've worn it twice now and have to say, I really can't stand just how acrid, sharp, pungent and unpleasant the scent is. There is nothing subtle, refined or even remotely wearable about this scent. It's big marketing ploy is that it has some sort of essence of marijuana, but marketing does not carry the day if the product is just plain lousy. I suppose the one good thing you can say about this is that it is unqiue and that it does seem to be composed of quality ingredients (never going to mistake it for a drugsgtore scent) but that makes it all the more tragic because the creator of this scent is wasting a lot of good stuff to make a very bad product. A total waste of money all around.

Chocolate and plum top notes, this dries down into a manly musky wonder. Really great scent.
