A lot of reviewers have said this reminds them of Thanksgiving and Christmas and I can see why: It's fruity, spicy, and a touch leathery with a hint of tea. It's too sweet for my taste (or at least, it turned out to be right after I went and bought a bottle), but I can see how it could be a kind of a comfort scent for some people. I can also see how it could be the kind of scent that a girl in her early twenties would want to cuddle up next to, and that, ladies and gentlemen, isn't a bad thing at all.

Moderate projection, poor longevity.

To me this smells very anticeptic. Almost like Bactine that you put on a scrape. I don't like the scent at all on me, on a blotter or on someone else. I can't pick out cinnamon notes but the black pepper and alchohol notes come through clealy along with maybe a moss. The bottle is nice looking ... that is about the only thing I can think of to say about this cologne that isn't negative.

The top is Spark like with the Lavender and cinnamon predominant.

The pepper then leads us into a warm bodied Mimosa.

Five minutes into the scent it starts to fade a bit and eventually you are left with a rich mix of sweet, spicy and woody with touches of tobacco.

With its multi layered approach it is definitely not one dimensional.

This is a wonderful scent doesn't smell sporty or fresh like many other over hyped frags out there, but it is sophisticated and pronounced. The initial notes resemble a more intense citrus similar to Abercrombie "Fierce", but the middle notes are what really distinguishes it from the rest. The compliment inducing woodsy and sensual aroma are sure to bring plenty of attention but don't expect it to last over 10 minutes. The final drydown is very pleasant as well but sadly almost undetectable. This is a terrific scent for any occasion, but it lasts for little over an hour.

I find myself asking SAs what they have in stock that smells like BURR-bree London. They invariably come back and attempt to correct my pronunciation so that it sounds as though they're ordering from a west Texas juice bar. And then proceed to tell me they've yet to smell London.

I give. I just know this'll be discontinued and I'll be without a favourite.

Rochas and Pi, Nuits de NoHo and UDV ... Those are the ones that smell of London, each with its own peculiar take on the sweet, warm, vanilla formula. Love it. And sure, each predates London, but I smelled the Burberry first. And it's slightly better than all the others combined.

Actually, when one combines all the others, the resulting juice smells just horrible.

Many men's orientals these days dry down to a powdery vanilla (which I love) but this one has clarity, yet remains very deep and interesting. It's woodsy (a criss-crossing of sweet light and dark woods), it's spicey (a great lasting cinnamon), it's sweet in a very tasteful way. But it's NOT confusing, and full of interesting twists and turns on the skin. At times it smells like a masculine potpourri satchel, with so many wood variations and spices. Not groundbreaking, and what you'd probably imagine if someone said, "a tasteful, spicey, woodsy oriental."

Burberry London for Men is a toned-down version of Givenchy Gentleman, but is still too similar. This initial blast is great, but it dries down to something sweet and gaudy.

Smells grass...Totally grass. Not little not more.If you have played soccer and has little accidents, hitting the ground, then you know what it smells like. But lasts well, though.

A ''green'' smell of nature. And it is very natural, indeed.people might not understand that you're wearing cologne...

Good quality,though;it doesn't smell cheap.

5/10.

Regards.

A relative of Brit, without the citrus. They share a certain air, a rather "perfumey" air I must say. This seems to be Burberry's signature, classy scents that smell like perfume, period. This is not to say I can't pick out notes in them, but it all adds upp to "perfume", not a true-to-nature invocation of a place or flower or foodstuff.
London is a woody scent, and I get a hint of leather too, still it reminds me more of an elegant, refined lady than a gentleman. A lady of the old school, with too much authority to wear some insipid fruity/floral. I'd say it's a lady's oriental wood, sweetened with florals and tobacco. It's very soft and smooth, no sharp or aromatic fougere/cologne/chypre notes. I wouldn't be surprised to smell this on a man since it has the classic woody/leathery base, but I would find it rather sweet, unless his male skin chemistry would make it less so. I'm talking tradition here, personally I think all scents should be gender-free, and all in all I wouldn't mind smelling London on anyone. It's just a bit too "perfumey" for me personally.

I was pretty excited to try this since Burberry has released some very decent scents in the past. I quickly decided that London will not join my list of those. Fresh and aquatic it ain´t, which in itself deserves some kudos in this day and age. But unfortunately there is something off putting in the heartnotes, something sour and slightly vegetal, almost like rotten leaves. Perhaps these are the alleged tobacco leaves mingling with the port wine? Also the staying power and sillage is minimal, so even if you do dig the scent this is a negative factor. The flacon is pretty cool though, the use of the plaid textile is nicely done and reminiscent of Hermès´s Rocabar.

I somewhat agree with the angel drydown. It also shares similar drydown with Bvlgari Black to me as well. This just isn't unique enough to stand on it's own. If you don't already own one of the above mentioned EDT then burberry is a milder form of the two. If you do already own one of the above, then you may be disappointed in that it's too close to what you already have.

Very manly, very British. Wearing this makes me feel like Harold Macmillan or some Oxford don, puffing a pipe and sipping port in his study. It's not quite what I would call "sexy," but it's refined and absolutely unique.

The heavy bergamot mellows into a mixture of citrus, tobacco leaves, cinnamon, and various spices. I would give this my full endorsement, but as it fades I find it gets a little too stale.

That said, I applaud Burberry for this utterly original and fascinating cologne.

This one here isn't too bad. Very masculine and gentleman like -quite classy in character. Mush better than Brit in my opinion.

This is an incredibly good smelling concoction. The initial burst is..phenomenal, I don't even know how to describe it,.. mimosa, cinnamon and brandy with hints of tobacco and leather? The drydown..well, what drydown? It's gone within an hour on me, I could seriously use up a full bottle in a week. Buy if you're ready to reapply every 2 hours or bathe in it, I just don't see how could one overapply this stuff - partly because it's so good whereas not 'in your face', partly for it's poor longevity. Hope Burberry will come up with EdP of this soon.
