Tilias, lime flowers, lindens flowers – all name the same tree blossom, but since I was a child I’ve known those trees as basswoods and in the spring they are full of small phenomenally good smelling flowers. I’ve always delighted in the honey made from these flowers, and the springtime walks in the woods when the basswoods – lindens – are blooming is one of the wonderful treats of nature. Ava Luxe’s Linden Blossom captures the aromas beautifully. It is pretty much a solifloral of this delightful tree blossom. It’s presentation is not refined … rather it is charmingly rustic. The ambiance of Linden Blossom is a bit heavy and lacks a crystal clean presentation as a floral note. And there’s some oiliness in the mixture, too, but only when sniffing directly on the skin. The sillage itself is free of the oil aura although it is still a bit heavy and opaque. As solid and present as the note is, it is not at all cloying. I enjoy it almost as much as I enjoy Tilleul by D’Orsay. Just as in Tilleul, I find the lime flower note beautiful and very feminine. I will likely not be wearing this but I really enjoy smelling it. It brings back such rich memories of the forest ...
