Just as advertised! Nostalgia in a bottle!

This is the smell of burning leaves in autumn, and it's delightful. A quiet scent that stays close to the skin, as if I'd just been burning leaves and a bit of the smoke is still clinging to my clothing. I'm especially pleased that this smells nothing at all like cigarette smoke.

The very definition of a comfort scent, Burning Leaves brings back a flood of childhood memories. It makes me smile. (This review is based on the water perfume version of Burning Leaves. I have not smelled the absolute.)

In my prison cell I bide my time,
Always thinking,
Always busy cooking up an angle,
Working on the tiny blueprint of the angle,
Sketching out the burning autumn leaves.

No one understands.
No one knows my plan.
Why the dancing, shouting?
Why the shrieks of pain?
The lovely music...
Why the smell of burning autumn leaves?

To be honest, I wasn’t at all interested in these non alcohol / non oil fragrances, but I decided to try this because it has received such good press. Well, this one is a winner. It smells as it is supposed to: Talk about memories; it’s an outdoor fire in autumn. I think the part about maple leaves is not an exaggeration: It smells like maple smoked bacon minus the bacon. The sillage from Burning Leaves is quite good, and it’s has excellent longevity considering its carrying agent. I’ve smelled several “smoked” fragrances before and have never even considered purchasing one of them. This one is very wearable, and there will be a bottle in my collection very soon.

This fragrance won't be for everyone, but I definitely like it. Perhaps it is more evocative than "pretty" but I like it nonetheless. Very realistic burning leaves. Not stupendously strong, but be careful not to overapply. Longevity: At least 12 hours on me. Thumbs up.

I've applied Burning Leaves many times in an attempt to like this since I now own a large bottle of it darn it , but I just can't, and most certainly, I would never spray any rooms in my home with this. On my skin the odor of lighter fluid or something even more acrid is the most noticeable scent and I really, really can't stand it! I am trying to find a scent similar to Soivohle's Orange Blossom/Vetiver. I don't know what ingredient causes the smokiness of this perfume, but that smell of smoke is what I'm after. I am addicted to it. Is there another perfume that has this kind of smokiness? And, does anyone know what ingredient it is? Thanks, Chrysilla

It is burning leaves. It is so realistic that even the nasty dung like smell from the burning straw is there. It deserves appreciation on its success in animation of burning leaves but who wants to wear this. The designer is an artist who would deodorize theaters for the special shows or plays but that kind of art is not invented yet and so i wonder who wants to wear burning leaves? May be it can be spared as a room scent, for times we'd like to play on mood of ourselves.

Just wet burning maple leaves. The scent of a fire that grandma used to make with her leaves when I was a child. Great for autumn but a little weak in fragrance strength for the winter time. Also it doesn't last nearly as long as I expected it to.

My favourite of the scents I've tried from the line. Very true to smoke, but it would be woodsmoke, not necessarily leaves. If it's leaves they're definitely dry - I think I've only smelled the smoke of damp leaves irl, if any. A bit sweetened too.

Wow, at first this one reminds me of a less spicy Essence of Galliano. It has the smoke factor of Galliano (a huge plus), plus the vanilla background. It is not a copy - it lacks the Iris note of Galliano. The burning maple leaf is realistic and mostly linear except for a slight mustard scent after the drydown. This was the only negative in this creative fragrance. I would recommend it as a room spray first and as a fragrance for the more daring.
