A nice sweet scent preferably for the evening.
Lasts long and the smell is not so common. It has something from D&G one but this is better and sweeter.
You can easily recognise the whisky accords that give masculinity to the scent.

A fault ridden production that takes an eternity to become even vaguely wearable. The opening is a deeply offensive wall of saccharine booze that is neither subtle, refined or pleasant to experience. There is no evolution whatsoever, it just weakens, and with some alacrity. This is the fragrant equivalent of Rap music, very tedious, and utterly meaningless.

Pleasant enough, but Michael Kors captured what this fragrance is seeking.

This smells VERY good on me, it is the perfect for a night of dinner and socializing. Not so good on a hot humid day though, it does not last when you sweat a bit. A must for any guy.

The almost tobacco-y leather base here is really pleasant, yes, but that's about all I can say for this one.

After the original Baldessarini, I really had my hopes up for something special. Instead, I got a watered down version of Escada pour Homme, with perhaps a little more amber and spice thrown in.

Mediocre longevity and sillage.

Whatever it is that gives Minotaur its character is definitely present here. Beautiful but amber-lite. Respectable sillage. Good longevity.

Sprayed some on my chest last night. First whiff is spice and whiskey/cognac. Doesn't last long either, 2hours max. Very mature scent, I don't think it's something for the dudes under 30.

Amber and spice? Fruits and booze? Woods and citrus? I can't figure this one out but it's got a weird vibe to it.

At first I wasn't a huge fan of the largesse in the middle notes but I've warmed to it. The initial burst is actually quite clear and refreshing. It's a quick drydown to a slightly sticky and moderatly dark tone. Bits of incense pop up every once in awhile. I would enjoy this in a poorly lit (but well attended) library and a cushy couch. The strength drops after 5+ hours and leaves a soft glow on the skin. Respectable sillage.

I agree with MMM that it is basically Boss Bottled with a splash of amber. I don’t like it as well as Boss Bottled because Baldessorini Ambre substitutes leather and violet for wood and geranium… Bad choice as far as I’m concerned: For a synthetic fragrance it’s better to stick to notes that have a broader range of acceptability than leather and violet, which are trickier to use than geranium or wood. I liked the original Baldessarini and with it, I thought that Hugo Boss was seriously attempting to improve the quality of their fragrances. Baldessarini Ambre kind of shows that that isn’t true. This is another copy of a hundred other fragrances out there. Poor longevity.

After spending a lot more time with this, I have to change my review. Still a thumbs up...
This is closest to Escada Magnetism. Both have a sweetness that is kinda boozey. The fragrance does not change much over time, but the depth is nice. I get the comparo to Boss bottled, but I think this fragrance is very different and worthy of a purchase even if you already have Boss bottled. It certainly does not have the dryness of Boss bottled, and there is something very sensous about this that you don;t get form bottled. On the other hand, if you already have Escada magnetism, I wouldn't suggest purchasing this...they are just too similar.

Baldessarini Ambré is my DH:s new favourite! It is not often he just likes a frag and wants it, (he is not as interested as I am in frags) but he has good taste anyhow! Baldessarini Ambré he finds better than many other fragances. Right now it is number one in his little collection of seven frags, and as I like it, too, I find it worth to write it down here at the Reviews. It is the best Baldessarini so far, we both think.

The initial notes give it a flavor that is a bit sweet for my usual tastes, but it mellows nicely over time. It has a nice warmth to it also, reminiscent of the way that Obsession struck me the very first time that I smelled it, but not so overstated. I can wear this for hours and the smell improves the entire time, with thThe whiskey undertones becoming very prominent throughout the day. I've been wearing this one to work, sprayed on my chest and collarbone, but I think it may be more appropriate for evening wear--it makes me think of warmth and coziness.

I love this on a man. Boozey and smokey-sweet, like good pipe tobacco. If you're a sophisticated intellectual who enjoys a single malt scotch at the club, this is your fragrance. It's old school masculinity, in a good way! I can picture Sean Connery wearing this. Thumbs WAY up.

Rather nice; ambery, woody fragrance with what to my nose smells like tobacco or a smoky note that lingers throughout. Fairly potent and long lasting. Could be worn day or evening as it is both sweet and fresh with that mysterious smoky note.

This is delicious. A wonderful smoky and evocative scent. It is a fragrance to be worn by an assured man who would think nothing of Bois De Portugal and carry it off with panache. It is a man's fragrance, to be worn in the evening with an expensive suit without a tie.

It is not for the younger man who doesn't understand the need for seduction rather than bangs and whistles.

The unsophisticated nose will miss its finer points. And or the record, it is nothing like the original Boss.

I agree with Ken_Russell and MonkeyManMatt: Baldessarini Ambré is very similar to Boss Bottled. There is some extra amber (of course), and maybe there is a hint of smoke added, too. Nothing new or interesting.

Urgh! You are the most utterly offensive thing I have smelled since I relieved myself in the public toilet this morning!

Honestly, this smells like a boozed-up hobo!

It needs a good, long, hot and soapy shower, a shave, a hair-cut and a check-up.

This fragrance has the potential to be more, but just won't get up off of its butt to do anything!

I don't like it! It is really a very smokey perfume. First it smells great to red apple and with very interessting other notes. When the top notes are gone it smells only smokey and chemical. I had to wash it away. Its like you stand too long on a barbecue grill and a fine amber perfume is mixing with all the smoke notes from an open fire.

Thumbs down!

For a new fragrance, this is surprisingly long lasting and refreshing. I tried this from a sample not really expecting very much given the fact that the original Baldessarini cologne is so weak. Just a few spays will last all day. The dry down smells of musk/vanilla/leather to me. I don't detect the whisky but maybe you have to use it for awhile. At any rate I will be making this part of the rotation in the future.

hooo no,.. this is simply not for me. the smokey-spicy/ambar note make me sick with an strong headache, not my type of fragance, maybe for old elegant man...

Baldessarini Ambré is basically Boss Bottled with a dash of amber and in a better looking bottle. Nothing new here in other words and hardly a competitor with excellent niche ambers such as L'artisans or Lutens. Just like Boss Bottled it is a great choice for office wear and other everyday situations though. The subtle apple and vanilla combo is simply very hard to dislike.

Packs a lot of sillage from the get go. Surprising that Violets could really lend a sweet ambery quality not so powdery as wwhat I was expecting, but really I think this more of a linear scent than anything, and you definitely can smell the whiskey note in this one. Wish that there was a more spicier aspect to this to even out its boozy sweetness. Longevity is better than average.

Sensual and long-lasting, yet far too generic, especially( so most of the male perfume users) who know Roma Uomo or, to stay alongside the Boss label, Boss Bottled. The similarity with the latter is so striking that one might ask why another scent was created, considering that its notes add simply nothing new. Still, fairly interesting and captivating- especially for someone who never knew Bottled- bearing a stylish and balanced sweetness reminding of pineapple, vanilla and caramel. Of course, very ambery drydown too, but that kind of amber with woody, almosty earthy, powdery and creamy shades. Very fruity and obviously apple-smelling, even without knowing the ingredients the apple note is strikingly evident, fortunately not a synthetic room spray apple smell but( and remeber this come from a person who usually dislikes both the taste and the smell of apple)a lush gourmand, ripe and warm apple note.

When they put a concentrée version of this one on the market I would by it for sure. It is a very good scent with a very nice whisky twist in the base that I love. But it is to week. Because of that weakness I give it a neutral for now.
