Kiton Black is in my top 5 fav fragrances. The aftershave is marvelous! It just works wonders on my skin. lasts very long for me, extremely pleasant, fruity WithOut being sugary-sweet at all. It is like Abercrombie Fierce without the metal note to it. I do pickup the suede note, and overall, the fragrance is very comfortable. A night outside, combined with a light breeze to bring the scent towards others= wonderful. A little goes a long way-- 2 sprays Max. the aftershave is so calming, my skin is instantly cooled and i usually do not need moisturizer after. Some aftershaves make me feel like I just shaved with an old nicked razer, while this one leaves my skin (gummy? baby skin?)-- however you want to say it, it is my favorite aftershave. It seems a bit out of place for everyday use, unless your wearing a suit day to day. i do not pickup the dirty or wood notes, and I would have never guessed lemon was in it. Read Bingos review, it describes it well. 28 July 2009

Wow, Buzzlepuff AND Sir Slarty have nailed the head here. This is a high quality fruity suede. It's business casual. I could imagine a lot of suits wearing this and thinking that they are the coolest guy in the office, and yet the reality would have them looking more like Ricky Gervais. This is good, yes, but it won't make you a maverick, it'll just make you smell good. 15 May 2009

kinda smooth and fruity but not an aquatic or marine mess.kinda like the original but not as green. a definate gq scent that should be sparingly used. a masterpiece for sure that should be in every guy's wardrobe!!! 22 April 2009

I find that Kiton Black is rather similar to the original Kiton Man. It’s more casual and it’s an easier wear than the first Kiton. To my nose, the top citrus notes are overwhelmed by the violet leaves – I don’t get any berries or anything else very sweet… and I think that a little more sweet is definitely needed. The middle accord – cyclamen, cardamom, and cedar – comes across as rather too neutral; to my nose it lacks anything that would make the accord special. The base is very similar to the base of the original except that the moss has been replaced by leather and the result is a smoother accord. Even though Kiton Black has less longevity than the original, I think it is the better fragrance: It has a competent construction and quite good quality ingredients, but I don’t care for several of the particular notes - especially the violet leaf. Just as in the original Kiton, I can’t find the love. 16 April 2009

Pretty dull fresh woody fragrance with thin and shaky balance. It has a tendency to have that typical nostril burning metallic citrus edge; the quality I have found unfortunately in so many fragrances. There is a very subdued suede/chemical leather accord in the distant, but it is very much overwhelmed by that sharp spicy cedarwood – citrus combo with notable violet tone. No pun intended of course, but comparing this to Bvlgari Black (read the reviews) is one of the strangest comparisons I have heard in my life as in my opinion these two have absolutely nothing in common. Even stranger it sounds when somebody is saying this is an amazing fragrance. Find out yourself. To me this is just as pointless as Vera Wang for Men which I find somewhat similar in character wise. 03 March 2009

Yep, "fruited suede" (Sir Slarty's review) fits Kiton Black like a glove. Very pleasant warm citrus, then cardamon and violet for a bit of soft zing, supported by powder soft tonka suede basenote. A Fruited Suede. There is a bit of leather in there too, but not enough to earn a leather designation and definitely not dark enough to earn "black" status. But a very nice, easy to wear, smoothe refined scent. Would be a good boardroom fragrance to wear with a Kiton suit. Or not. 18 February 2009

I really studied this fragrance before buying it. I went through review after review on the quest to gain my own impression. I also went through many samples before I purchased this fragrance. Here's my take. I would say this fragrance is very smooth. It's soft and comforting. It melds with your skin chemistry very subtly, but noticeably when walking through a slight wind or heat. It's really nice during the night time. The "comfort" hint makes it very inviting and relaxed. I don't smell anything in this scent remotely close to Bvlgari black. My friend owned that and I don't see any similarities at all. Maybe on certain people the two could smell similar, but don't let that stop you from letting this frag be unique by itself. I see Kiton black being a master in disguise. Truly one of the best kept secrets. When you wear this, people will not relate to this scent, because they don't know it everyday by the people surrounding them wearing Aqua Di Gio. To end this review, I will say try it on your skin and give it an honest chance. I love the stuff and would recommend it to anyone who wants something new, warm and soft. This is a nice guy fragrance. Give it a try! 20 January 2009

my 2 favourite fragrances in the world are KNIZE TEN and CUIRON.....and i'm starting to think that my 3rd favourite scent really is KITON BLACK. this is an amazing fragrance. It's so incredibly well blended, balanced, and formulated. Each time i wear this stuff, it makes be feel as if everything is gonna be alright. It's got swagger, confidence, character, and depth. People keep referring to 'berries' in the opening, i don't get much of that. What i get out of this, is a very airy light suede and light vetiver opening with touches of wood and flowers. Emphasis is on the 'light'. As the scent wears on the skin, it becomes stronger.....and results in the most glorious, new car smell with leather and suede being gently soaked in light vetiver and wood. It is such a dignified drydown...i have yet to experience anything else like it. This is the best designer scent in production right now, and is a must have as far as i'm concerned. HUGELY recommended. 08 December 2008

This makes up for the disappointing Kiton Man. Smells like fruited suede. Subtle but no so much so that others can't smell it on you. Good for all around casual wear. 04 July 2008

Reminds me a lot of Bvlgari Black, with the rubber hint.Very nice smell, but much like the pop frag's. Nice drydown. 17 January 2008

Picked up 2 discounted bottles recently and I am unsure of whrther i will regret this small expense in the longer term. POLO BLACK does it better, and the reference to the slightly dirty note in the leather is a pop on assessment by Joe-Frances. There is still an appeal here in some of the fusions rise above it all. The quality of product shines through. The bottle is typical KITON though sexier than what we are used too. I will give this the thumbs up, if just for the rare and discreet value in owning and wearing occassionally. I much prefer the prodigal child, KITON Napoli, but then again, I am the unashamed absolute fan of the Later product by Claud Montana - BLUE MONTANA HOMME, ans have 2 of the Original RED BOX that are unlikely to see the light of day in my lifetime - takes all sorts ! 29 December 2007

There's a lot of berry right from the top (or is it the bergamot-lime/lemon marriage?), much like Armani Black Code, and it doesn't let go. I don't get the leather though. Longevity is very good, as is sillage. This isn't really my type of perfume - can't get over the berry smell, but it seems to be high quality. Didn't strike me as very masculine, not that that should be an issue. Thumbs up for unique enough, quality, longevity, sillage. 21 December 2007

I think this is a cross between Armani Code and Ungaro III. It is sweet and mysterious, almost a smoky or rubbery note somewhere but the effect is quite pleasant. Sillage is good, longevity excellent and more refined than Code and less wieid and less gothic than the Ungaro. Quite obscure and new on the market, so you'll be smelling unique than the Tommy, CK and Acqua di Gio crowd. Wouldn't wear it with a Kiton suit though, I'd wear Santos or Antaeus instead. 03 November 2007

Kİton Black is really exceptional fragrance. I've been wearing for a month. I love leather. This frag is interesting, because, top notes and midde notes are the same, ever base note. No change. But it's not sharp enough. 11 October 2007

Of the Kiton Family, this is the more 'sensual' of the 3. If you remember original Kiton, there IS an obscure prescence of a Sweet/Dry 'rubberyness' found in this Black...but the Leather is prominent as well as the Red Berries in the TOP notes. On a less 'sophisticated' review, I think of 'Chocolate Roses' in odd but alluring combination. In Napoli Kiton....nope, not ONE similarity...so 1. -Kiton (Office Wear/Single Man) 2. -Kiton Black(Romantic Man/Evening Wear) 3. -Kiton Napoli (Last Resort) 25 May 2007

Kiton seems to be taking a page out of Bulgari's book with this one. It smells similar to origanil Kiton, which I love, but with a distinct rubber note--Italian luxury houses seem to equate black with rubber. No real improvement on the original, in my opinion, but still great quality and elegant, simple packaging. 20 April 2007

This is similar to the suave and sophisticated Kiton Men, but with a slightly "dirtier" leather note. It has a touch less staying power that the original and is softer and a tad sweeter in the drydown. This is a very nice fragrance that despite a name that might suggest a dressy evening affect is IMHO a bit more casual that Kiton Men. Derivative, but worthy. 13 April 2007
