Okay, … a little bit similar to King Kouros, but I don’t get a lot of resemblance, and I don’t find it near as potent. On my skin the calone in the heart accord comes through so strongly that it really disrupts any clear association with the original Kouros. I find this quite marine / floral and I don’t get the perfumy smell that I get after the opening of Kouros. All that said, I like what I smell here. The citrus notes present themselves competently in the opening, and I really enjoy the marine feeling of the calone but I can feel it getting into my brain a little and suggesting a headache; if the potential for headache doesn’t get any worse than it has so far, the headache thing will not be a problem. The only floral I smell in the middle, jasmine, is used beautifully in conjunction with the calone – it forms a very fresh heart accord that holds for an extraordinarily long time. The dry down comes through a little softly with cedar. I don’t get any incense or musk… I get a simple, straightforward cedar with the last remnants of calone coming through. The dry down performs a bit weakly on my skin. I enjoy Kouros Tattoo and see it as another excellent alternative in an excellent line… 10 October 2008

Love this take on Kouros. I was lucky enough for someone to decant a small sample for me. Tattoo does feel slightly weaker than its parent with some pepper added but its weakness is only slight. We're talking about Kouros here, a potent fragrance as it is! Good stuff. 27 May 2008

If you can find this, buy it! This is the king's grandson modernized yet unmistakeably Kouros. I was puzzled becuase I thought it was the same scent in a collector's bottle...but it is not. Tatto edition is a 'tonique', a concentration that fits somewhere between EDT and apres-rasage. For me (and for a fragrance of this strength and magnitude) the tonique is THE BEST concentration. It packs enough punch to take you back 26 years in time, yet it is gentler to the nose and loves you instantly rather than run you off like the original does before it shows you love. If you couldn't stand the original's in-your-face attitude, and the fraicheur is too weak, then THIS IS IT! 10 THUMBS UP! PS: this tattoo edition comes with 2 temporary tattoos. There is a new summer version that is the same 'tonique' fragrance but no tattoo. 12 April 2008
