Very strong bergamot and mellow citrus in the opening that melds into almost like a pomegranate. A slightly fizzy fruit. This settles down to a musky lavender and patchouli that's undetectable after an hour. Very uninspiring.

40º à l’Ombre has a citrus opening that is strong in grapefruit – effervescent and quite pleasant smelling, even though the sillage doesn’t appear to be very strong. It’s an attractive opening. It lasts a long time and in the process, loses some of its vibrancy while taking on a slight synthetic tinge. The middle accord retains some to the citrus from the top while it gathers a floral accord composed primarily of geranium to my nose. I loved the opening but I’m not liking this middle as much as I liked the opening. The base loses it entirely as far as I’m concerned. It is not very interesting, it stays very close to the skin, and its sillage is near nil. Outside of the opening, this is a disappointing production.
