Despite of being far better than the horrific and repugnant Lola Marc Jacobs, Daisy does not capture in particular any of my senses and does not correspond to my olfactory requirements. It's a fruity-floral, an infamous genre in my olfactory vocabulary, and is a reminiscence of a bath soap or a shampoo without any trace of natural or ostensibly natural ingredients, so it could not be ranked among the worty womanly concoctions. What i detect, after an harsh and almost lemony blast of grapefruit, is an airy fruity smell based on a central chord of berries, violets and musky vanilla ( despite the strong grapefruit i smell far reminiscences of Mure et Musc  by l'Artisan Parfumeur). This accord represents the backbone of a  fragrance that is very fruity and impressive in berries-violets but even  a touch appealing in the right addition of vanilla. The last is decently blended and is not caramellous in its link with fruits, too warm or suffocating as in Lola but averagely dry, soft in wodsy musk and airy. The dry down is fortunately balanced in the comparition between creams and woodsy notes. The presence of woods projects a powdery vibe, plays a balancing role and understates the synthetic feel. While Daisy could be worn in summer time Lola is simply an abortion  of bombastic fruity-warm industrial caramel. Under the mediocrity in my opinion anyway.

My mom was out buying me what I wanted for Christmas about 3 years ago. I told her I love small coffrets & mini bottles of fragrances. Instead of buying me a bunch of small bottles she found she called my cell phone asking me if I wanted a new fragrance by Marc Jacobs instead. She said it was so unique and fresh. She sounded like she so desperately wanted me to choose this over a bunch of other perfumes. I wasn't sold on the phone but she sounded like she wanted to get it for me badly, so I was like, ok.When I got it, I was never really into it. I recently reapplied it after a few years of using up all my other perfumes, kind of putting off wearing it. I liked it when I reapplied it. It's not my favorite, but I do now appreciate it. The only problem I have with it is that it is SO ubiquitous! I smelled Daisy on so many teenage girls a couple years ago that I might end up putting off wearing it but I'm running out of perfumes lol. I haven't smelled it much anymore because I'm in college now but I'm dreading if I wear Daisy girls will say "OMG you're wearing Daisy!" I don't want that. I don't want to hear I smell like a certain perfume, I want to hear that I smell good but Daisy has the "I know what perfume you are wearing" effect.

Edit: I now wear this daily, it's warm and unique scent. I have the eau de toilette, I recommend getting the eau de parfum because the edt lasts an hour before turning powdery and faint, and within a few hours it completely disappears.

Frankly, I'm a little surprised at all the people who are saying that this fragrance comes across smelling "flowery" or "heavy" on them! :) I'm only half serious when I say this, I realize that the dominant notes that come out in a fragrance are strongly influenced by the type of complexion a person has and the Ph balance of their skin. I sort of wish this fragrance would smell more "floral" on me too, but, alas, it does not! When I wear this perfume, the main notes that come out in it are the green leaves and the wood, mixed with a bit of the fruity notes too. An acquaintance of mine actually asked me if I was wearing men's cologne when she smelled Daisy on me one day! So..for me..it's highly ironic that the bottle features a cute, girlie flower on the cap, because it's pretty much a unisex fragrance as far as I'm concerned! That said, I don't dislike this one. I wear it pretty frequently because it is also a sheer, light, subtle fragrance on me, unless I accidentally spray too much on. Mind you, I'm using the EDT. I suspect the EDP may be stronger, and perhaps it might also be more floral? I actually haven't tried it yet! In any case, I find the EDT works on me as a light, "non-offensive", appropriate for every day kind of scent. I would recommend it as this kind of fragrance, but I see that it doesn't work with certain body chemistries! :) (based on the comments here.)

Daisy didn't seem original or especially appealing to me. It really does deserve to join the ranks of drug-store fragrances aimed at the under-21 market, if it hasn't already done so. (Here in Korea, it's still sold alongside Bulgari and Lanvin products as a more upmarket scent.) It does go a bit play-doh in the drydown, which was nauseating. Fortunately, it has a very short life on the skin, and almost no projection, so I suppose those wishing to be Daisy-fresh can wear it without fear of causing sensitive souls such as myself to leave the room, clutching our stomachs, in search of the nearest ladies' room.

    For the EDP (Black Edition):
I have had this perfume on my wishlist for a very long time now since smelling it on a tester card a few months ago. Today I decided to try it on my skin, and let's just say I was utterly disappointed.

Daisy does not blend well with my skin chemistry at all and ends up smelling like something reminiscent of play-dough. It was somewhat sickening and dirty smelling.

When I look back now, I can see why so many people love Daisy, yet I don't consider this fragrance as being unique or outstanding in any way. Marc Jacobs was actually playing it safe when this perfume was created. I can't deny that Daisy is a best-seller and popular amongst young women, yet I wonder how many people bought this fragrance simply because of the bottle design and the hype surrounding it.

I originally bought this fragrance originally in the spring of 2008 in the form of a gift pack with the shower gel and the lotion. But when I first smelled this a little after it debuted, I absolutely detested it. I thought it smelt like nail polish remover. But something made me get a sample of this. I got a sample of this as well as Vera Wang's Princess and instantly liked this the best and used up the entire sample.

The juice? Though intended for a youthful audience I wouldn't be offended if my mother or even my grandmother was wearing this fragrance. The best way to describe it is "fresh". A lot of people might turn their noses up to the fact that it is technically a "fruity floral" with notes of both strawberry and violet at the top while drying down to a jasmine and musk base. But the scent is as haunting as when the grass is first mown on brutal summer day or when mulch is first put down in the spring. Not to say that this perfume smells like dirt, but it definitely has a fresh nature about it.

I feel that this perfume also brought back "violet" in a big way. Typically, you would only see violet in what would be considered "old lady" soaps and smells but with mix of strawberry and white woods it becomes irresistible. To the untrained nose, you would not detect violet, but once you know it - you know it. Violet's molecular structure also plays hide and seek with your nose - disappearing and then reappearing over the course of the wear.

Bottom line: great fragrance. I've been a fan for almost three years and its perfect.
