Yes, this juice is huge. It immediately reminds me of the cheapo Jacomo. Must be the patchouli, but it's much more complex and sophisticated to my nose (or is it snobbery?). Jacomo smells great on others, but I don't enjoy it on myself...too rough round the edges with an insistent synthetic note that whispers 'cheap'. I haven't bought Narciso yet, but probably will soon. Should be fantastic in cooler weather. I'm looking forward to it ;-) OK, I bought it and it turns out it's one of those that I prefer not to spray higher than my stomach / lower chest, it's so pungent. The EDT for women is actually easier to wear though it's unmistakably feminine. The For Him bottle is heavy and could come in handy for self-defence purposes. 18 June 2008

Weird. I read that this was meant to smell bad on purpose. Weird. I like this. Violet leaves can smell good to me. Goes on brightly green and subtlety earthy without being dirty. I find it odd that I really love this stuff since I disapprove of many other green fragrances namely Eternity. 28 May 2008

I like this fragrance-a lot. It is one of the new releases that I am excited to discover, because it is quite different. I also get a strong melon opening with this, yet something in it also reminds of of the great Bulgari pour Homme. They don't smell that similar, yet they both have something smooth and suave to their progression. And am I crazy to smell a little Oud wood in this? I guess I am just imagining that note since it is not listed, yet it feels that there is a strong underlying note of woodsy base in this. I think it is slightly dangerous because of the musk, but still very smooth as well. So the part that sparks up many heated discussions: too much violet? I think not! It is sexy, and yes, if the scent had color it would be a deep purple, but it is not an annoying bouquet of heavy violets here. It is handled beautifully. Drydown displays a lot of character: the rich, deep beauty of all the ingredients. I also like the fact that the scent stole all the best parts of his older sister, the ever-so-popular NR for her.(which I think smells a little like an old women's fragrance on the wrong person, but that's just me) 28 April 2008

Haven´t bought NR "for Her" to myself, but managed to talk DH into buing NR "for Him"! And I am really happy he did! It is a different frag, very silent, but there all the time, and adorable for me to sniff during the day! It really suits his skin! Worth a try! 02 December 2007

Ayala is 100% on this. I almost did not comment because she nailed it completely! The opening is dry and wet at the same time...weired. THen there is the light fecal musc dry down that shows up pretty quickly (3 hrs for my skin). Interesting thing is about 2 weeks before sampling this, I blended 2 of the colognes in my collection and got the same opening as NR. THe 2 colognes were RL Romance and GAP Blue No. 655. OVerall, this is very different, and if that is waht you are after, go for it. This gets thumbs up from me ONLY because it is different. 12 November 2007

The violet notes here are incredible -- absolutely marvelous. Wonderful drydown, too, with a heavy emphasis on amber and musk. VERY glad I spent the money! 17 October 2007

COLLOSSAL is the word I would use to describe Narciso Rodriguez For Him! This is a scent that epitomises stylishness... but in an assertive, excessive manner! Layer upon layer of bold, commanding accords leap forward in an attempt to stand center stage. The opening accords are green and lush - like the deep unspoiled emerald forests of New Zealand. All the while, velvety violet accords soften the "wetness" of this rich fougere. Heady patchouli acts as an anchor to bring this scent back to earth; and the ever-present clean musk I would describe as akin to running a thick silk ribbon across the back of one's neck... icy cool, but 'humming' with warmth. Yet curiously, these varied individual accords find an astonishing harmony here! This is a powerhouse fragrance that commands respect. Its perfect worn with suit and tie, but also for casual wear for those who are bold and self-assured. Longevity and projection are great. Absolutely two thumbs up! 12 October 2007

Narciso Rodriguez for him (or musc for him "parfum oil") is very nice and smooth. It lasts long. It reminds me a bit of YSL Rive Gauche and a bit F.M. French Lover...maybe it is just my nose. Thumbs up!!! 27 July 2007
