Yes, this juice is huge. It immediately reminds me of the cheapo Jacomo. Must be the patchouli, but it's much more complex and sophisticated to my nose (or is it snobbery?). Jacomo smells great on others, but I don't enjoy it on myself...too rough round the edges with an insistent synthetic note that whispers 'cheap'. I haven't bought Narciso yet, but probably will soon. Should be fantastic in cooler weather. I'm looking forward to it ;-) OK, I bought it and it turns out it's one of those that I prefer not to spray higher than my stomach / lower chest, it's so pungent. The EDT for women is actually easier to wear though it's unmistakably feminine. The For Him bottle is heavy and could come in handy for self-defence purposes.

Weird. I read that this was meant to smell bad on purpose. Weird. I like this. Violet leaves can smell good to me. Goes on brightly green and subtlety earthy without being dirty. I find it odd that I really love this stuff since I disapprove of many other green fragrances namely Eternity.

I rarely despise a scent, but this is one of them. Smells like decaying greens and sewage. I cannot understand how anyone would be able to wear this.

I would agree with Indie guy here . Also strange that no one mentioned pine tree chords that are IMO to obvious and to strong.
This fragnance somehow reminds me on some hyper producted after shave you could buy in every bigger groceries store and which is little more expensive than other after shaves in there. I think this frag would best fit on some granpa skin , not on someone younger than 40 years(i am 27). I also noticed that Narciso lacks a good drydown transformation, which is defenetly for such strong scent a must.
When I spreyed it on me , through some time i only notice it smells less intensive, so , no transformation to remember happened. At least not on my skin.
My stand is thumb down for this, which don't means it is bad scent but definetly not on of my taste.

P.S.
thanks to jellybean who took time and few dollars ;) to send me to Croatia test bottle from South Africa !

This is a violet leaf disaster.

It smells like a five year old made a taco out of grass and banana peels.

I like this fragrance-a lot. It is one of the new releases that I am excited to discover, because it is quite different. I also get a strong melon opening with this, yet something in it also reminds of of the great Bulgari pour Homme. They don't smell that similar, yet they both have something smooth and suave to their progression. And am I crazy to smell a little Oud wood in this? I guess I am just imagining that note since it is not listed, yet it feels that there is a strong underlying note of woodsy base in this. I think it is slightly dangerous because of the musk, but still very smooth as well.

So the part that sparks up many heated discussions: too much violet? I think not! It is sexy, and yes, if the scent had color it would be a deep purple, but it is not an annoying bouquet of heavy violets here. It is handled beautifully. Drydown displays a lot of character: the rich, deep beauty of all the ingredients. I also like the fact that the scent stole all the best parts of his older sister, the ever-so-popular NR for her.(which I think smells a little like an old women's fragrance on the wrong person, but that's just me)

I'm afraid it's wet blanket time for Narciso Rodriguez.

Narciso Rodriguez goes on with very bright, sweet citrus notes and an aquatic – melon accord that moves quickly into the foreground. This melon is thicker and less natural than that in Millesime Imperial, and it rests upon a powdery foundation that soon reveals itself to be cedar. The tutti-frutti accord doesn’t persist, and I have no complaints about that. Its retreat reveals the cedar more fully, along with a pleasantly bitter green note (violet leaf?) and a touch of fresh resin that just might be cypress. As it dries down the scent continues to dry up – becoming more stark, aromatic, and woody by the minute. What eventually emerges is a blend of still-bitter green notes, dry cedar, and sharp vetiver over a foundation of light musk. Nice enough, but far from earth-shattering.

Others seem to think more of this frag than I do. The big problem: too much violet! I will admit that it's a complex fragrance, and it evolves and evolves...which I usually appreciate. But the violet was too annoying for me to appreciate this at all.

Haven´t bought NR "for Her" to myself, but managed to talk DH into buing NR "for Him"! And I am really happy he did! It is a different frag, very silent, but there all the time, and adorable for me to sniff during the day! It really suits his skin! Worth a try!

It's alright.
Not too sweet, but a little too much flowers.
Also I smell fresh cut Green Bell & Poblano Peppers.
It's cool. Different.

Ayala is 100% on this. I almost did not comment because she nailed it completely! The opening is dry and wet at the same time...weired. THen there is the light fecal musc dry down that shows up pretty quickly (3 hrs for my skin). Interesting thing is about 2 weeks before sampling this, I blended 2 of the colognes in my collection and got the same opening as NR. THe 2 colognes were RL Romance and GAP Blue No. 655.
OVerall, this is very different, and if that is waht you are after, go for it. This gets thumbs up from me ONLY because it is different.

For Him opens with a disturbing bouquet of both dry cement and wet concrete, unrecognizable spices and a honey note. The intrigue dissipates quickly when the scent becomes a familiar, I’ve-smelled-this-before modern fougere accord – a hint of fake herabceous water, a glimpse of violet leaf coolness. The dry down settles within about an hour – a close to the skin, rather soft, undecisive mélange of amber and musk (it is also said to contain patchouli, but I can’t say I am recognizing any). Nothing offensive in the drydown, and the sillage is soft and non overpowering – the contrary of what I’ve expected after the magical sillage and staying power of For Her (it has a tendency to stay everywhere after it was applied, and even withstand a laundry – yet it does it with a nice touch of mischevious elegance – almost like Josephine’s deliberate musk contamination before leaving Napoleon’s palaces). The only thing that truly stands out (if you take a very close look) is an animalic ambergris note, somewhat fecal, but with such low-key vibrations it can never offend and uness you’ve smelled it before it would be very hard to put your finger on it. And this might just be its chance for success, despite its overall rigidity.

The violet notes here are incredible -- absolutely marvelous. Wonderful drydown, too, with a heavy emphasis on amber and musk. VERY glad I spent the money!

COLLOSSAL is the word I would use to describe Narciso Rodriguez For Him!

This is a scent that epitomises stylishness... but in an assertive, excessive manner!
Layer upon layer of bold, commanding accords leap forward in an attempt to stand center stage.
The opening accords are green and lush - like the deep unspoiled emerald forests of New Zealand. All the while, velvety violet accords soften the "wetness" of this rich fougere. Heady patchouli acts as an anchor to bring this scent back to earth; and the ever-present clean musk I would describe as akin to running a thick silk ribbon across the back of one's neck... icy cool, but 'humming' with warmth. Yet curiously, these varied individual accords find an astonishing harmony here!
This is a powerhouse fragrance that commands respect. Its perfect worn with suit and tie, but also for casual wear for those who are bold and self-assured. Longevity and projection are great.
Absolutely two thumbs up!

Narciso Rodriguez for him (or musc for him "parfum oil") is very nice and smooth. It lasts long. It reminds me a bit of YSL Rive Gauche and a bit F.M. French Lover...maybe it is just my nose. Thumbs up!!!
