A powdery mixture of sweet raspberry and violot tones greats you in the opening. Much too sweet and floral. Hints of sandalwood spring up, though not enough to overtake the florals. Really long lasting scent, but way too feminine for me to even think about wearing. Thumbs down.

The concept behind Delicious Closet Queen is the one of a feminine fragrance built to be wore by men who aren't afraid to show their feminine side. It sounded quite challenging/intriguing to me and when I found a 50ml bottle of this composition for 10 euros (no kidding) at a special sale they were doing at La Fayette in Berlin, I blind bought it right away.

This stuff opens cheekily chemical with a sort of rawsberry bubblegum note that's at the same time horrifying and interesting. Floral patterns, opopnax, hints of leather and green notes join the party giving birth to a sweet (but never too much) and nutty scent laying on a woody/vetiver base. Maybe a bit generic and somehow nondescript but not completely unsuccessful.
Nothing outstanding or particularly exciting here, but overall Delicious Closet Queen still mantains a slight weirdness feel that can make of it a quite enjoyable fragrance.

IMO it doesn't worth the full retail price, but if you happen to find it at a bargain price, go ahead as it can be funny.

From ELDO I expect something original and intriguing. So at first with this closet queen I was disappointed. Only moments later I understood the game played by this scent. This is a two storeys scent. On the gound floor you have a classical, common and unoriginal masculine cologne with no hint of the style and forniture you will find on the first floor. As soon as you arrive on the landing of the first floor you are striken by the beauty and richness of the rooms. Unfortunately the dream disappears too soon, longevity is poor.

This is unsettling scent. Wearing it, you feel stalked, observed, watched a little too closely. A strange sensation to say the least. Nothing that closety about it to my mind, quite the opposite in fact, like a sly and beautiful besuited man sliding his eyes over you on a crowded train. The imagination fires up and scenarios unfold, all so tempting, but you know the reality might be humdrum and terribly suburban. (As an aside....One of my favourite smells is nail varnish, not really sure why, up there with cold plastic, tar, ink and other oddities that rock my boat. This reeks of it, all acetones and violet-tinted indulgence with a sparkling raspberry sexiness all tucked away under that workday suit.) Are there lipstick traces, trails of hair spray, whiffs of leather and darkness as you step off the train behind him? To follow or not to follow, not that is the question.

The use of contrasts, in scent as in art, is a means of getting attention and can be very provocative. The use of "masculine" notes with the "feminine" is not a new idea, but Delicious Closet Queen is a nice take on this them. The violet, vetiver and iris denote a men's scent, while the undernotes of rose and raspberry whisper a little gentle flirtation of the fair sex. As far as marketing goes, the intention of "closet" means subtle and hidden. When one reads the package insert, it speaks of a man in a crisp tailored suit yet there is a subtle *something* which betrays intense femininity beneath, hence Delicious Closet Queen. Imagine seeing an impeccably dressed man in a crisp business suit and having the secret knowledge that he is wearing his wife's lace thong underwear underneath! This scent is not overt in actuality, but a nice fruity floral and very gender neutral.

Not sure about the name --- sounds repressive, but the fragrance is nice -- I'm a sucker for non citrus fruit and berries in fragrances anyway -- turns a bit powdery but is bearable and suits warmth. Lasts for aeons.
