I tried this one because the shop didn't have a sample of the ordinary aqua di parma. I like it. It lasted the day and had a nice sharp full tang. Hyacinth.

Smells like a sweet and sour cedar lemon drop. Too many sweet notes are crowding here imo. The citrus is persistent and lingers much longer than in most other colognes. But by the time the ginger is noticeable the sweetness is pushing it. The Benzoin is the last straw though; Colonia Intensia becomes kind of cloying at the point when I begin to notice it, which is about an hour after application. It isn't so bad if you don't apply so much of it. Longevity is decent for something fresh and clean and citrusy like this. It's a little sweet for me and lacks balance in this regard. The cedar is resiny and makes for a sweet bomb too. I might be more sensitive about sweet cloying things than the average nose, so for objectivity's sake I give it a neutral rating. It isn't so bad I guess.

Colonia Intensa extends the herb and jasmine-seasoned eau de Cologne formula of Acqua di Parma Colonia via a very generous dose of dry cedar. Unfortunately, the cedar note smells tacked on, rather than integral, and hence does nothing to improve upon the basic eau de Cologne structure. The cedar stands in near isolation in the drydown, supported only by a soapy clean musk. The result isn’t interesting enough to hold my attention.

If you crave an Acqua di Parma variant that offers more depth, complexity, and tenacity than the plain Colonia, I advise passing on Colonia Intensa in favor of the charming Colonia Assoluta, which fleshes out the eau de Cologne idea in a more organic and convincing manner.

The fresh opening, while not as good as its sister fragrances Colonia and Colonia Assoluta, is excellent, getting things off to a good start... then the mid and base notes came along and disappointment starts to set in. Cedar is indeed the dominant note in the base... nothing wrong with that as I love cedar, but something is messing with the cedar making the scent mildly cloying to my nose at times. The bottom line is it is above average but not in the same league as the original. I recommend sticking with the original Colonia, or the also superb Assoluta, both light years better than Intensa. One thing in Intensa's favor that should be noted is its superb longevity...

Another non-sequitur in the Acqua di Parma COLONIA line-up, COLONIA INTENSA offers a fairly standard palette of notes featured in men's colognes: cedar, ginger, and cardamom are most dominant to my nose, with cedar by far the strongest and most persistent presence. The leather is quite light here, only darkening the cedar slightly, as far as I can tell.

Someone will probably hate me for saying this, but while wearing COLONIA INTENSA, I was reminded of BENETTON BLU (which I recently tested), another super-cedar-rich masculine composition. In a side-by-side comparison, I must say that they are much closer to one another than this "COLONIA" is to either ASSOLUTA or the original.

INTENSA strikes me as a perfectly fine scent for gents. Nothing new at all, but relatively pleasant. A safe choice.

    woody aromatic fresh edt.
the opening is at first sniff a bit medical harsh but quickly turns into a light version of encre noir with a bit of la nuit by YSL and terre dīhermes wishing it would become the brilliant and ingenious further development of eau sauvage (diorella) but far from it - it remains a cheap effort....eau sauvage, dirella, cristalle, Y, etc. will always remain unique and unreachable icons.
Colonia intensa makes such an effort to be good but at the end itīs a huge disappointing scent, not bad but not what it intendend to be.Itīs an intense somehow fresh scent with a harsh spicy note- in the beginning you like it but you wait for more and expect - and in the end itīs thicky, nerving and exhausting.
The whole trick of an inmortal perfume is a spectacular opening and a dry down that keeps the promises of the great opening and colonia ssoluta fails. It lacks of personality and singularity- it stands in the line of allure by chanel, terre dīhermes, tom ford for men etc.- all scents that arenīt bad but replaceable and exchangeable!alfarom has given a perfect description. And colonia assoluta remains despite such an effort uncharismatic and dull
