I was disappointed in this fragrance. I wanted so much to like it but for some reason, almost all I could smell was plastic. Barbie doll plastic. Underneath that I could detect a pleasant soapiness, which I would have very much enjoyed, if it had not been for the overwhelming plastic smell.

Surely it must just be my chemistry, as I highly doubt all of those who gave this high marks love to smell like plastic...

On the upside, it had pretty good staying power (about 8 hours).

I dont usually tend to like powdery fragrances but love Infusion d'Iris. I think its the softness combined with the chypre base that has me hooked. Plus it has good longevity and sillage, which is great given that a lot of fragrances tend to die prematurely on my skin.

For me, this fragrance is like a relationship that starts from this unassuming friendship that you never even know will blossom into a beautiful, addictive, passionate affair! This fragrance takes a while to "grow" on you, but once it does, you never want to be without it! I started out as a huge fan of the original Prada and when this came out wasn't too impressed. I actually didn't like it, but wanted to see if I was missing out on anything, I kept testing every time I went back to the store. Eventually, I started really liking it, to the point where I have decided to by the full bottle, and then another bottle, and another bottle... It is a beautiful, unique, feminine fragrance, sexy, but not overpowering, classy, but not conservative.

Iris seems to be moving into the “note of the decade” category along with vetiver. This seems to be a highly likeable, middle-of-the-road iris perfume that avoids smelling like ordinary, feminine iris perfumes—a difficult task. Infusion d’Iris starts out bright and lemony, although mandarin is the actual citrus. It quickly moves into a cool, powdery iris that maintains just enough earthy, rootiness to make me like it. I prefer Serge Lutens Iris Silver Mist and The Different Company Bois d’Iris. The Prada creation carefully straddles the line between popular sensibilities and artistic greatness, but I would say that the former goal supercedes the latter. I am not a great lover of iris unless it truly revels in its sweet, carrotlike facet. I would wear pure orris butter rather than most iris perfumes. Having said that, I still give this perfume the green light. The base has a certain sweet, green, milky, smoothness that rescues it from becoming harsh or soapy. Of interest to me is the lentisk, or mastic, note listed in its pyramid. This resin from a Mediterranean evergreen tree is used in both fragrance and cooking. It is an acquired taste, both unusual and pleasant.

I don't get why this wonder is being rated (and sold) as feminine. Vetiver, cedre, incense... to me it's rather masculine reading of iris. It smells wonderfully on my skin, sillage is very gentle yet self confident. Can't get enough of it.

Went to Macy's particularly to check this one out. Wasn't too impressed, mainly because of how powdery it was.

My wife’s skin possesses a sublime scent. Something so beautiful that most fragrances are not worthy of her. She’s settled into a steady relation with Chanel Allure which I understand but she needed something new just as a break with routine. I never tried Infusion, reading the comments here I was certain that Infusion d’Iris would be an interesting choice. Even so I watched with some trepidation when she applied it for the first time. My fear was baseless, this is a match made in heaven. Infusion d’Iris settles on her as if one of those Botticellian flower spirits has touched her with a breath. What glorious interplay! The result is amazingly classy and subtle, but with staying power (at least 8-10 hours).

So Prada delivers again. Personally they are the only house I trust nowadays, dedicated to perfume against the tide. And because their brand is so strong they know people will buy it anyway so why not make these subtle scents? Let’s hope they don’t start to overproduce.

This one had me at hello. The notes have been thoroughly discussed here so I'll take a different track. I love that this is fresh & bright w/out being diminuative or overbearing. On me it creates the perfect cloud that even I get whiffs of during the day. I've found it easy to tweek and enhance as well. I Hate Perfumes Tobacco accord takes it to a completely different place, while still feeling a part of it. DSH Le Fleur Rosette is stunning. It melds beautifully w/ the soft florals and makes it a bit rosier. Orange Blossom.....The nice thing about adding these notes is not only the obvious olfactory experiance~but it creates a "real", more grounded experiance rather than a purely synthetic one. LOVE! Too much fun!

I did think of it as smelling like "Very Expensive Soap", but since I smiled when I smelled this - I bought it. Wore it all day yesterday - lovely all the way from top to base.

There's the Homme version but I much prefer this one. My beef with the Homme version is that the Homme is a half-hearted effort at masculinizing it even though this one is perfectly lovely in itself as a unisex.

Iris seems to be the next hot thing in perfume business nowadays. Prada Infusion d'Iris is a very nice take on this theme. It's cool iris on a bed of cool fuzzy white musk, quite powdery. Very versatile, can be worn to the office or to a dinner. It's too subtle for clubbing or bear hunting, though.

Very wearable for a man - I have come across more feminine scents than Infusion d'Iris. Due to its coolness, it's very androgynous as well.

The fragrance goes on very powedery on me and stays that way. It's a very light and beautiful scent but it doesn't seem to evolve on me.

I tried having D&G The One on one arm and Prada on the other. At first the Prada was much preferable but after an hour or two the One had mellowed into a soft and delicious scent while the Prada had gone just a tiny bit sour. It's not bad at all, I'm afraid that it just doesn't work so well on me.

It smells FANTASTIC on my mother. Something in her body chemistry gives the perfume a "kick" in all the right ways. It's her Christmas present this year. She's usually devoted to her Chanel No5.

I sprayed a bit of this on my hand today. Can't decide if I like it or not but suspect I wouldn't be able to wear it. It smells a little bit like Moschino's Cheap and Chic to me.

Looks like I'm one of a few that did not like this fragrance. I tested over 2 days and it doesn't seem to mix well with my body's chemistry. Reminded me of an old, moldy bar of floral soap.

I screamed out loud when I saw this frag at Sephora. I have almost bought it blind several times. Initally the neroli almost made me want to scrub it off. I have learned to breathe through those inital blasts calmly, though (with my wrist held away from my face). Drying down Iris tamed herself demurely, the roots and incense being at once fresh and transparent but giving body to the fragrance. Dry, she is mearly a powdery version of her self, and having applied liberally, it lasted several hours on my skin and over 24 hours on the test strip. While it is a light fragrance it is a bright one, something I would save for when I wanted to feel refreshed, but still with Oriental overtones (a must for my tastes). It is very much what I wanted Guerlain's Fig Iris to smell like, which I did not buy b/c of the heavy grapefruit note. I will be buying a bottle of this for the warmer months.

This was delightful in the vial, but on my skin became cold and cheap smelling. A scent that could be worn by the scary lady in the bathtub from "The Shining". The soapiness!!
I will try some other iris scents though....

The scent is very dry on me from beginning to end, but starts with a bit of powder and floral. The powder note smells like ground natural orris root. I am not sure what the floral is, but I suspect it is an attempt at the scent of an iris blossom. The scent is soapy all the way through the development, and it is rather pleasant--not like a choking amount of aldehydes, but really just...soap. Good soap. Really good soap. I was thinking--maybe this scent will just simply BORE me, but it didn't happen. I enjoyed the soapy, clean, powdery scent the whole day. It does wear very close to the skin, but even if I am the only one who smells it, I don't mind. I kept catching whiffs which made me feel refreshed, even late in the day. I am still not sure it is full bottle worthy, but I can understand why it is so popular--it is enjoyable without being pretentious or overpowering. It is a good, every day, every occasion scent, but is not really like anything else on the market right now. Even if you could compare it to Hermes Hiris, this is much more modern and long lasting, but also very linear.

This is niiice... Yes it is powdery, and it has something woody about it, but a light and mild kind of woody. I recognise this powdery thing from other Prada scents, like Amber pour homme, but while it annoys me and feels kind of syntetic in that one its just blends in so perfectly in Infusion d'Iris, and feels much more "true".
On a friend of mine this perfume smells even better. On me it is nice but tends to be a little bit one-dimensional and doesn´t change much over time either. But on her...Ooooohhh, it reveals so many more notes, it seems so much more complex and becomes really, really gorgeuos. I almost feel ashamed wearing it, considering how wonderful it really CAN smell, but still I just can´t help putting some one from time to time.
I do think this perfume could be worn by certain men to, it is not specifically feminine, it is just a very nice and special fragrance.

This fragrance has the makings of becoming a classic. I am not a musk fan and I do detect it or something similar, but the perfume is so addictive that I cannot stop smelling it on me. A wonderful gift for any woman and really has a unique feminine scent.

At first I wasn't so sure about this scent. I smelled it while waiting for my purchase at Neimans, and all I smelled was a powdery iris and some citrus which made me think of Chanel No. 19, which I'm still coming to terms with to this day (c. 8/24/2008). Then while I shopped at Nordstrom one day, I decided to spray the air with it, not an easy feat considering they had a 200 ml tester out, but what I smelled was glorious! A burst of citrus and green notes floated in the air, and on skin it moved into an impression of fresh cut iris, just barely powdery, that segues into warmer notes of benzoin cedar and galbanum with a hint of incense. In my mind, this is what the waiting room outside the Heaven's doors would smell like--no kidding!!

Another way to describe this scent is if you took Prada Amber Pour Homme and did away with the lavender and patchouli and cut the benzoin back, this is what you would get! So Prada definitely has a thematic approach to their retail offerings, benzoin seemingly being a signature note in all of them.

If I had to choose between the mens and womens offering (I own both BTW), I'd choose the womens version just because it lasts longer on me, and does smell more interesting. Women can easily wear the mens as a lighter, EdT/EdC offering.

I'm not a fan of powder, and so had my doubts about this. But it surprised me. It has both a cool, mineral austerity and a wistful, abiding depth that reminds me of L'Heure Bleu in emotional tone if not in actual olfactory similarity. Infusion d'Iris manages to be sophisticated and well mannered while hinting at something passionate and ageless. It starts out as a light slip of a thing; then incense and cedar begin to emerge and anchor the soft floral and iris notes. Quite lovely, not a mainstream fragrance, and more original and interesting than Prada's original scent.

It is a misty, powdery iris with aldehydes; and somehow sweet. It has the rubber eraser like note as in Bulgari black. And though the aldehydes in chanel 5 strikes a headache on me this does not. This is a special scent which happens to be both modern and fairy (iris). I do not plan to buy one now but can make addiction if i try a few times more i am afraid.

This is such a great scent, I love prada amber so I really wanted to give this Daniela Andrier creation a shot and am not disappointed. I don't find this hard to wear at all and it's also quite long lasting on my skin, two big thumbs up!

A really beautiful soft, sensual, fragrance reminisent of times gone bye.
Reminds me of the film Roman Holiday.
A chic classic.
My only wish is that is was a little stronger so that the scent would last longer on the skin. Will be expensive to keep spraying repeatedly but such an outstanding fragrance is worth it.

I somehow do not believe that a woman should smell like this , though. No wonder they have a bigger bottle for linen . Exactly. That's how sheets and pillows should smell !!To my nose Prada Infusion d'Iris is a smell of chalk. Yes, school chalk. Or mould. Or both. I much prefer Courreges in Blue with nice uplifting Basil and same damn-aldehydes. Each generation has got a hero , right? So IMHO Prada Infusion d'Iris just replaced Courreges in Blue on the market. But the idea stayed the same: clean, active, uplifting . Only I will never buy Prada Infusion d'Iris . "New" does not mean "Better" !!! So for me it's a No.

"Prada Infusion d'Iris" is unusual when matched against its peers; lovely, but not something that seems designed for a mass market. This, of course, makes it immediately intriguing. Kudos to Prada for such bravery. That said, this is a shimmering, iris fog of a scent; erotic yet demurely tight-buttoned, sweet but not overwhelmingly so. It's as if the mythical haziness of "The Unicorn Spell" was married with the nostalgic melancholy of "L'Heure Bleue" and "Infusion d'Iris" was born. The iris note in this blend is a subtle mineral-esque powder, the galbanum and vetiver combo add a kick of contemplative reediness/dry grass. The only complaint I could possibly have with this scent, is that the strong inclusion of orange blossom can sometimes turn saccharine-sweet when applied heavily (despite its watery lightness, I find over-applying "Infusion d'Iris" can overwhelm a room). Overall, this is a scent that could appeal to all ages, be unisex for many and has the remarkable appeal of being both historical-seeming yet modern. It's almost like a modern, romantic interpretation of historical stories or legacies. Simply put, "Infusion d'Iris" is intimate sophistication. It's like a magical and memorable dream.

A bright, citrus and oriental scent, with touches of galbanum and iris. Perfect for warm weather, which is what we're having as I write this. This is fairly enveloping and rather rich, even a little creamy, without being in any way in-your-face. Pleasant, uplifting, cheerful. My only issue with this is that the combination of iris and benzoin makes for a slightly powdery drydown; and yet, this is less powdery than I would have expected. The oriental notes and the galbanum fortunately seem to go a long way toward mitigating the powdery effect.

Sad to say, Infusion d'Iris does not "work" on my skin. I'm not familiar with a wide range of iris scents - the only one I own is AdP Iris Nobile, and I love that. In comparison, Infusion d'Iris smells very simple to my nose - it does not develop a great deal on my skin, and worse, tends to smell cheap and chemical. Amazing what different skin chemistries can do to perfume. UPDATE: I was going to pour my sample of this down the drain, but decided to give it a couple of more tries. I now find myself liking its dryness; plus it has a rather mood lifting effect. The staying power is quite good. In short, whether I am spraying more lightly, or the weather has warmed up, or...my taste has changed...I am enjoying this enough to consider buying a bottle.

I love this scent but as a very fair, blue eyed blonde with freckles (all of you out there with similar coloring will understand), this has NO lasting power for me at all. I will probably go through my bottle in a week, a very expensive week. Lucky are the ones who talk about it's staying power, on me it's about 10 minutes at best. I 'm hoping summer heat will help.

Me, too, find Prada Infusion d´Iris outstanding. It is an oriental, gentle, but the oriental-theme is there beneath the other tones all the time, and gives the frag a mysterious touch.

I adore Prada(new), but find it a frag difficult to wear, as it is easy to put too much on, and then it becomes horrible on my skin. Prada Infusion d`Iris is much easier to wear.

The Iris-note is truly really beautiful!

Worn with the bodylotion, there is no problem with the longlivety.

I do hope this will become a classic!

I think this is the best Iris scent I have ever smelled full stop. It's the only perfume in my wife's collection I covet,

I understand that Prada are to bring out a male version of this. But they needn't bother since on a male skin this smells very different anyway, how do I know? Because I am wearing it right now and I have male fragrances which smell more feminine than this does on male skin.

In the same way as Terre D'Hermes transforms on a woman's skin to a shimmering light fragrance, so Infusion D'Iris changes on male skin.

This is one of the best fragrances male or female of the last few years and deserves to become an all time classic. Thumbs up seems too small a gesture of praise for this absolutely stunning fragrance.

Every woman should treat herself to a bottle of this.

And men whose skin allows them to wear it should get themselves a bottle too!

To me it smells exactly like Dior Homme minus first "masculine" notes, that I like very much. So, to my opinion, Dior Homme is more interesting. I choose Dior.

I bought this without sampling (well, actually, I put it on my wish list and the Spouse bought it for me).

I like it very much, but it isn't very long lasting on me. My only complaint, but a big one.

It's sophisticated, subtle, grown up. Nothing cutting edge nor avantgard, but I have other fragrances that do that.

Outstanding! Thank you Prada, for this magnificent fragrance! It is with great joy I announce to you all that Infusion d'Iris does not follow any current trends in fragrance...it is an original - with a capital 'O'! It is everything POOKERELLA, FLEURSDUMAL & CLEMMIE have said, and then some. The iris here is extremely wearable, with a drydown like no other. I love the fact there is no vanilla or patchouli in the base, a refreshing change from the status quo. And guess what else? I would be perfectly happy to smell this on a man as well. The sillage is moderate, but the juice itself is quite tenacious. It is not deep or dark. On the contrary, Id'I is a veil of light. There is a combination of notes in this blend that vaguely remind me of the original (1957) version of L'Interdit by Givenchy. I think it's the combination of a brighter type iris note with vetiver in the base. The current re-mix doesn't have it, just the original. Smelling this makes me long for that 1957 version...at any rate, I just bought a bottle of Infusion d'Iris ~ be prepared to do the same!

I love this fragrance. Ever since I first sampled it, I haven't been able to get it out of my head, and although I resisted it for 3 weeks, due to the price, I had to buy it in the end, and I haven't regretted it for a second. On me, it starts off light and powdery, but it dries down to a raunchy sexy smell that's almost musky. I just can't get enough of it.

Infusion d'iris is destined to become a Classic. It is simply beautiful. It seemed too floral for my taste on first whiff but I fell in love with its understated seductive charm almost immediately. Definitely a new signature scent for me.

One of the most complete fragrances I have ever smelled; nothing is missing and it could not be improved upon. There is complexity but not in an obviously structured top note, drydown manner; rather I would say it is fullsome; all of the notes are present. Fresh and clean yet warm and inviting, feminine and masculine, light and dark, youthful but wise, sophisticated but approachable and like all the best fragrances, deceptively simple and effortless. In a word CLASS. Perhaps for that reason it is very versatile and easy to wear; I can't imagine an occasion where you couldn't wear it. If you prefer something bottom heavy with a dark note, it may not be for you; I say MAY; however, I defy anyone not to love this, even the hardcore oriental and patchouli crowd. It is not moody or changeable; it stays near to the skin and is reliably consistent from first spray; it doesn't morph into something completely different that rears up unexpectedly and makes me feel unwell...

I hummed and hawed for some months about whether to purchase after much loitering and spraying in the department store; I decided I couldn't live without it. It is one of the most expensive perfumes out there but unlike many others, it is worth the heavy price tag. Sheer genius. Put it on your xmas list and expect to be complimented.

I am COMPLETELY taken by this scent. I don't exactly know what it is that has left me dreaming of this perfume. It is a newborn, yet like an old soul, it has full knowledge of what came before it. An absolute treasure: spirited and beautiful, fresh and warm, provocative and tender....all at the same time. It is an enigma. Love it....cannot stop thinking about it. Maybe it's the rare Iris...whatever it is....Grazie, Prada!
