Usher for Women (2007)

I love Usher as an artist, however it is his artistry in fragrances that has me slightly disappointed.

Usher She isn't a dislikable scent, it's quite fresh and distinctive, however it is the lack of imagination and creativity that went into the making of this fragrance that has me questioning why he even decided to put his name to this scent.

The first thing I noticed when I tried this fragrance was its strength. When applied to the skin Usher She becomes quite overpowering. In my personal opinion, this fragrance, (especially with the use of the apple tree blossom note), smells a lot like a knockoff version of DKNY Be Delicious that my cousin wears. It's a rather heady blend of apple, red currant, apricot and frangipani.

The heart of this fragrance does try to mellow the opening top notes with soft and feminine florals, however the scent, although much more subtle, still remains quite strong and sharp.

I was rather disappointed with the drydown. I smelt no hints of incense or orchid at all. Instead it was a soapy finish that left much to be desired.

I am yet to try UR for women, but here's hoping it smells much nicer than this.

UMMMMM makes me wanna go out and have fun! First note I got was (not that this is my idea of fun ;) leather, immediately followed by booze. Then the honeysuckle. After a few minutes got the peach and woodsy notes. There is an overall spiciness, even though it is called a floral fruity. Funny, I don't appreciate the peony in it yet. Honeysuckle and peony are 2 of my favorite notes.

The opening of Usher for women smelled "boozeysweet-yeasty?" as if I had to wait on someone who had been drinking -made my room smell this way too ,and I don't drink alcoholic beverages - mellows out to a soft golden sweet warm fragrance .Midnotes-basenotes okay light and soft but nothing I LOVE so Iam passing it to my mother who feels about the same towards it as I do .She said that she might wear this in a church or business setting (after topnotes)but only occasionally there are other scents she likes better. Oh well .I got it as a gift at work so no financial loss here. Note: I would seriously reccomend NOT spraying this in a car - just imagine freshly sprayed boozey topnotes and you get pulled over Hello breathalyzer test!

An overly sweet fruity floral. As my daughter would say, "mommy, it's been done before, and better!" She's right. She's 12.

Just tried a sample of this over the weekend and while I find it soft and appealing its a little too like the perfume you smell on older women at church. Very formal, classy, basically "churchy". Nice, but not for me.
