Soapy iris. I'm on the fence with this. I love, love LOVE the iris note in this. Much better than Dior Homme which I found way too powdery and heavy. Here, at the heart, it becomes an elegant beast. However, Prada puts the same sharp and soapy accord that's found in Prada Amber pour Homme. It turns me off just enought to not like the rest of the scent. Lasts all day and sillage is reasonable.

I received a sample vial at the perfume counter and wore it twice. I get a strong soapy note (Amber Pour Homme) and Iris. This fragrance borders on the feminine side of clean. I'm sure there will be plenty of Basenotes reviews in favor of this fragrance. However for me, I just can't say I like this new Prada there is something about this scent that borders on nauseating.

I really tried to find something redeeming in this fragrance, especially after being so intrigued and impressed by "Amber". Unfortunately all I get with "Infusion" is a fizzy mix of Cherry Coke (neroli + "clean notes" morph into this, I guess) and iris-scented hand soap. On my skin, the fizz dissipated after about 30 minutes and I was left with heavy, heady iris. It just seemed more suited to a middle aged woman than any construct of masculinity that I can imagine. I would've given this a neutral rating on the basis of complexity or development, but it's just not there.

The extremely iris prominent top notes (dry, almost brittle and throat parching) feature just a pinch of neroli slightly overpowered by a pure soap accord that appears almost immediately. It is extremely soapy. Fans of soapy scents will be thrilled: it smells bubbly, aqueous and floral. The first time I skin tested this, I missed the soap accord and my nose zeroed in on the iris. Repeated wearings, especially on warm, humid days revealed the soap. I am reminded of the biting, almost lye-based hand-milled soap notes of Puro Lino, or the green/flower accents of White Linen by Estee Lauder.

The iris/neroli/soap combo dries down revealing a light, transparent vetiver mixed in with the top notes. The light whiffs of vetiver made me wish for a stronger vetiver presence - the iris wears very strong and linear on this fragrance. I smell no incense or benzoin in the dry down, with only the slightest woody accord (cedarwood?). It is a more evident vetiver accord than Infusion d’Iris, and although I wouldn’t classify this as more masculine (although many women might do this), I think it just smells more crisp and starchy.

Overall it manages to evoke a freshly showered feeling, awash in flowers.

The scent is not groundbreaking, in terms of fragrance releases, but it is much better than the large number of aquatic, marine and synthetic men’s fragrance clogging department store shelves. I applaud a designer scent that is not afraid to be flower prominent...

Longevity of Infusion d’Homme is average. It stays quite close to my skin when I wear it and when I wanted it to wear stronger I remedied this by overapplying it. Perhaps the ancillary products (bar soaps, shower gel) might extend the sillage?? But, then again, showering with products that are scented to smell like a ‘fresh shower’, sounds a little ridiculous doesn’t it?

I was given a sample of this when I was at the store a couple weeks ago and I originally wasn't even going to give it a try. Had a change of heart and put a bit on my wrist and it was pretty good.
As far as composition goes, it is pretty good. Longevity is ok and sillage is alright as well. Definitely better than many of the other fragrances released this year.

A wonder of a fragrance. It is fresh, ultra-refined, heady and understated. I smell the mandarin and vetiver, but the other notes are airy, wonderfully congruent and subordinate. I've been looking forward to this fragrance, and I am not disappointed. Bravo, Prada! Bellissima, Ms. Andrier!

Infusion d'Homme is the only fragrance of the 08 designer releases I found worthy of investing in. I went with 50ml because I know that's all I need, but I love the 25oz bottle ($270) just for the way it looks and other big sizes are priced reasonably ($70/100ml, $100/200ml).

To a large extent it is an EdT version of Infusion d'Iris, but this is not a bad thing. The crux of the (male) fragrance is cool iris presented with a face of neroli. My only complaint is that the other listed notes (which, as with other Pradas are listed boldly on the bottle itself) of vetiver, benzoin and cedar are not noticeable in any meaningful way. I assume these ingredients/notes are in fact there, operating in the background and blended such that you can't pick up individual notes. Again, this isn't new for Prada. Amber Pour Homme, which is a favorite of mine, doesn't really smell at all like amber, and the notes stamped on a metal plaque to the top of the bottle aren't all that clearly detectable, either.

The strength isn't there to carry significant development into drydown. I tested d'Homme on one arm and d'Iris on the other... being an EdP d'Iris was stronger and lasted much longer, but I actually liked something about d'Homme much more. Perhaps it was the subtlety, or perhaps it was the functioning of different notes in the background.

Still, very enjoyable modern fragrance and better than Armani Diamonds, Versace Pour Homme, Givenchy Pi Neo, Davidoff Adventure, and almost everything else designers have offered guys this year.

I got two samples of the original "female" version and this just to see since people regard the original Infusion so highly and there are claims of it's unisex properties. They both are beautiful, the original being sweet in a non-obtrusive and gentile manner that brings about images of clean linens. They smell quite similar to me, both like really really expensive soap, which I like. D'Homme is a bit soapier and far more quiet (which is a bit odd considering the original's lightness) The original of course has more punch and floral embellishment, perfumey but not heady, which while beautiful I'm afraid might be a bit too feminine to wear for me. D'Homme to me is a good alternative or training wheels until one might feel comfortable wearing the original.

A whisper of a fragrance. Elegant/subtle/subdued/ephemeral iris scent opened by citrusy/clean notes and anchored in a woody/mossy base,
with traces of green notes in-between (vetiver and galbanum). The sillage is medium at best. If you expect this to shout, you'll be very disappointed. But if a subtle murmur of a scent is all you want, do give this a try. It is just about perfect. The female version called Infusion d'Iris can actually be worn by a man. It is less green, more powdery -- it works just as well.

If you prefer a more niche scent, L'eau d'Hiver by Frederic Malle is the way to go -- A warm iris scent so cool, it's chilling!

Total Rubbish, and thats all I have to say about this

I have at home the Infusion d´Iris marketed as a women’s perfume. Ever since I first tried it I thought that it is a great unisex fragrance. Recently I tested the masculine version. What an utter disappointment. So sharp and unsophisticated, to my opinion its silage should be shorter to save us from the trouble! I am sorry if I sound caustic. It is quite indicative though how the industry works. Prada released one great perfume, which they decided to market as feminine, and then they decide to cash its success out by lounging a masculine version … only this time the latter is way inferior to the first. To me Infusion d´Iris for men recalls a clean soupy home fragrance that stinks way too much. It dries out flat, and it lingers, as long as it lingers, unsuccessfully. Gentlemen out there… this one is entirely at your own risk!

Oh, I really didn't like this.
All I get from opening to drydown is vetiver, totally overpowering all the other ingredients.
And it's not a nice or balanced vetiver, it's a stale, old smelling vetiver.
I found the whole thing so acrid that I am wondering if the bottle I used may have been cooked.
Silage was average and it lasted about 3 hours, which is pretty short lived for my skin.

Well, this is a rehash of the women's versions with a few tweaks, as other reviewers have mentioned. The biggest difference is that the Infusion d'Iris was an EdP, whereas Infusion d'Homme is an EdT. Perhaps that's where the longevity issue comes in for some people. To me, this scent is a nice warm weather player that could be introduced into the summer lineup. If it wears off after 3-4 hours ( which isa its duration on my skin in tests), I don't much care, It is rather mediocre. On the whole the women's is better, longer lasting , and a little better crafted to my nose. The flanker for men? No earthly reason for it especially when the original was as perfectly unisex as any slightly woody-oriental eau-de-cologne style scent.

Just like Infusion d'Iris, but the proportions of the notes have been played with. It begins like Infusion d'Iris, but doesn't progress to the sweet ambery aspects of benzoin and galbanum like the womens version, but to a final note of orange blossom and hints of cedar. Longevity leaves much to be desired, but still carries a remarkable simplicity about it.

This is just plain rubbish! To my nose it is an exact mix of 80% Infusion d'iris and 20% Prada Amber Pour Homme. Uninspired, like so many of the chemical releases this year.

The mens's infusion is truly a hybrid of the women's infusion and the original men's Amber pour homme cologne. It has the lovely iris, vetiver, woody/incense notes of the women's original, yet has that distinct barbershop/soapy quality of the men's amber. While seemingly well composed, after many applications on the first day after purchase, it sadly disappears on my skin with virtually no trace whatsoever. I do like it though, yet it appears to be an eau de cologne in silliage.

I had the pleasure of sampling this today, and I think Iike it. It is obviously a much fresher version of the first offering by Prada: Amber Pour Homme. However, there is a "baby wipes" scent (very much like that of Bvlgari's BLV Notte) alongside the original, super soapy Amber. The overall effect is much like Guerlain's Vetiver. I normally find fragrances like that (Guerlain's Vetiver and Prada Amber ph) to be too soapy, too strong, and too in your face. Infusion is the perfect strangth for someone like me, and I find it very wearable. So much so that I sprayed about 10 shots on me, and I did not feel overwhelmed at all...compared to wanting to gag from just one spray of the Amber ph or Vetiver.

I give this a thimbs up, because Prada obviously recognizes the fact that the original might be a bit too much, and has decided to offer something of the 'smaller noses'.

If you like Thierry Mugler's Mugler Cologne, you should enjoy this sibling equally as well.
