Comes on rather rough and rustic in the opening: I smelled the myrrh and patchouli even before the spray hit my skin: I miss the bergamot and ozone opening completely. The fragrance goes almost directly to the myrrh, patchouli, and woods of the base, hitting the grass and heliotrope middle only temporarily. The treatment of the base notes is quite similar to the other fragrances in the line even though the notes are not typical: The myrrh, patchouli, and woods are quite light in sillage compared to those notes in most other fragrances. And the base doesn’t really last long on my skin because it is very soft and because it already has gone full force directly out of the bottle.

I like the opening simply because it is quite a bit different from other Neil Morris fragrances I’ve tried: It’s rougher and more textured. But it takes little more than five minutes for the fragrance to smooth out to the familiar Neil Morris signature soft subtlety.
