Chance Eau Fraîche (2007)

Very refreshing, cooling and pleasant. A perfect scent for Spring and Summer in my opinion.

Chance eau Fraiche opens with the citrusy sourness of the lemon and the woodsy quality from the cedar, creating a damp yet clean opening. In some ways the scent is slightly masculine, reminiscent of many citrus based male scents.

I was starting to fear that I would dislike this fragrance until it began to merge into the middle notes of soft florals which blended nicely. This floral blend is sweet yet crisp, maintaining that wonderful Summery feeling.

The drydown was good but not great. While I wasn't really impressed with the strange blend of musk, vetiver, patchouli, woods and iris, I was rather pleased that the patchouli wasn't strong and headache-inducing like patchouli usually is for me.

Overall, Chance eau Fraiche is a fantastically unique, bright and sophisticated fragrance. It carries Chanel's great lasting power and doesn't fail in making you feel as if every cent was well spent.

A nice unisex fresh citrus fragrance. Besides the Jasmine which comes to the fore from the get-go, Chance Eau Fraîche is totally unisex in my opinion and lasts a long time on me for a citrus fragrance.

This is a unusual frangrance for chanel
because chanel usualiy makes deep orienals woodsey and aldehydes.
but this is a treat. it's a crisp bright
Frangrance the feeling of springtime
with the sun glairing though the flowers
the citeruses and woods will brighten
your day but it can be a bit overwelming.

It took a minute for the alcohol smell to dissipate but I suppose that's to be expected with an eau de fraiche.
When I first put it on I get the citrus and cedar, it's mouthwatering. Then the floral starts to emerge w a bit of a powdery scent. In its finality, it's floral w a unique woodsy/green note. Odd thing is it almost seems...flat and one dimensional. Even so, I probably still would have gone for it if it hadn't faded in less than an hour and a half.

It doesn't give me the impression of being a "younger" scent as others have stated. I think it's more sophisticated than that and imo it's a perfect summer scent for work.

Trust SirSlarty to nail the review with such an economy of words, for his description was right on the money. I blame it mostly on the choice of a 'peachy' topnote - any less than a masterful execution and you'll end up with a drugstore bubble bath as is the case here. There is also a hint of tension with the aquatic feel of the scent seemingly ill at ease against the backdrop of distinctively powdery floral musk.

Nevertheless CHANCE EAU FRAICHE remains wearable even though it comes across like a distant countryside-dwelling cousin of Coco Mademoiselle. And if you're still sniffing around for the teak wood, forget it, it's really just a splinter.

A perfect summer scent! Chance Eau Fraiche is light and smells clean, crisp, and fresh. I wear this scent during the day and IMO is perfect for me because of the hot and humid Flordia weather. On me, I get notes of citrus and greens with undertones of light woods, musk and amber. Chance Eau Fraiche seem to last on me through out the day. What more can I say...a classic summer scent!
