This smells exactly like this bubble bath my mother gets in huge gallon jugs from Wal*Mart. It's peach scented. Eau Fraiche is a peach scented soapy floral with a very light transparent woodsy musky drydown. I suppose if you like Chance and wanted a light version for summer this is it. Otherwise the fragrance doesn't stand too well on its own. 07 November 2009

I like this scent as it's pleasant with mighty projection and strength (IMHO). Not what I was expecting for an "eau fraiche." I don't plan to wear it myself, but it smells great on my lady friend. To my nose, Chance Eau Fraiche leans toward the masculine and could easily be worn by a man. Obviously a high quality fragrance which I do suppose smells fresh- in a sporty way- if you only just sniff and don't think too much about it. This scent would best suit a bold, confident woman who is stylish and sure of herself. Wear it and turn heads! 14 July 2009

Clean, crisp, refreshing, rejuvinating, and mouthwateringly good! A perfect fragrance to have during the summer. The top notes of citrus and cedar create a "wow" effect that awakens your senses. The pink pepper keep it from being a linear scent and creates a nice depth. The florals (water hyacinth & jasmine) provide a feminine quality and nicely balances the pink pepper---maintaining lightness and perhaps that water accord that people are mentioning. The jasmine is not obvious (which is good for me because I detest smelling of jasmine), but I believe that it adds to the superb quality of this fragrance. The bottom notes, again, are well-blended. The amber adds enough sweetness to keep it from being to sour. But the musk, patchouli, vetiver, and teak wood create a subtly sexy aroma when combined with the feminine powdery notes of iris. Chance Eau Fraiche is lovely beginning to end. It lasts most of the day for me and can be worn during the day and at night. 07 July 2009

Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche Notes: Citron, Water Hyacinth, Jasmine, Teakwood, Vetiver, Patchouli Amber, White Musk (from Osmoz) Chance Eau Fraiche starts with refreshing citruses along the lines of lemon, lime and grapefruit, blended with powdery florals. There is something of a water note here--not aquatic or ozonic, per se, but watery as some fruits are (peach or melon). I also smell green notes, similar to the smell of a crisp Granny Smith apple, some woods and peppery spices. Interestingly, the individual notes sound like they would result in a warm oriental. On the contrary, CEF is very cool and tart. The citrus notes are long-lived, but fade toward the middle stage. The watery and green apple-like notes continue, though, and the fragrance eventually turns soapy and bitter. I don't detect any distinct woods, but the same clean patchouli and vetiver accord from Chance lurks below the watery surface. CEF is quite mediocre and is not terribly pleasant. Even though it seems to have the typical high quality of Chanel fragrances, and despite a promising start in the top and mid notes, it is probably the worst Chanel fragrance I have tried to date. 17 May 2009

I like regular Chance better--it concentrates more on the hyacinth and patchouli. This one is a "lite" version--more sparkly than the original. The listed notes are similar, but Eau Fraiche smells fruiter or more citrusy, brighter, and top-heavy. So, although it is sprightly and pleasing, it is missing the stronger floral heart and solid base of the real Chance. I give it a qualified thumbs-up for a carefree, fizzy, fruity floral with better composition than many in its genre. But pass me the original. 03 April 2009

Chance is not for my skin, but Chance Eau Fraîche is! So now yet another Chanel has a place in my wardrobe! I guess it will be great for summer. Thumbs up, of course! 23 March 2009
