This is a strange one. At times I can smell most of the notes clearly, while at other times it comes across as a thick vanillic syrup with a cedar base. I'm still trying to figure out why, perhaps it's due to what I had been wearing previously. I always enjoy taking the cap off and smelling the sprayer, though I certainly don't do this every day. I no longer view this as a spicy Oriental fragrance, and I don't find it offensive in any way. If anything, I could understand someone saying that it is too sweet. The grass note is very interesting here, making it something of a "hybrid" (along with putting basil in an Oriental). I haven't tried Boss Bottled so I can't say if this is similar. The top notes, which I try to avoid as much as possible, may indeed have the cheap and synthetic qualities foetidus mentions, but after that, I don't find this to have that cheap chemical smell I've detected in other fragrances. Perhaps the sweetness masks that to some degree. In any case, I don't look the gift horse in the mouth, and at $5 or $6 for 100 ml, I'll be sure to keep at least one bottle within reach.

My old "newbie" review: I don't know if my AVL is the same as this, because there is date listed. This is an Oriental, but a spicy (a bit hot even) one, and not like a mellow ambery one of the KL Lagerfeld variety. It has good sillage and longevity. There's not much development over time, which can make this seem boring. For the price I paid, it's not bad to have around, because it's not like anything else I have. However, because I dion't have experience with recent, high-end Orientals it's impossible for me to say whether this is a great deal or just a decent one.

I don’t care for the opening accord – it seems cheap and synthetic to me. This bergamot and basil kind of opening has to be made with halfway decent quality ingredients and it has to be better balanced if it is to succeed. This one doesn’t work. The lavender that shows its synthetic self in the opening is the version of lavender that is found in several of the cheaper fragrances - but I have seen it work well with the proper care. I don’t get any pear or cinnamon, probably because those notes are overwhelmed by the poor bergamot, basil, and lavender accord. The base is totally uninspired: It’s an inferior cedar note mixed disproportionately with some uninspiring musk and vanilla notes. The total fragrance has a synthetic tang to it and, though very inexpensive, is not worth the price. I enjoy many of the multitude of Adidas fragrances: But not Victory League 2006. Good sillage and longevity, unfortunately.

funny how they manage to bring out fakes, let them run for a while, then discontinue them and yet still improve their reputation year by year..
in my eyes this one's 100 % a copy of boss bottled, just a lil more vanilla.
Well done though, and the price is as other have mentioned unbeaten.
Il haveto get myself another bottle before they dont stock it in our drug stores anymore.:)

I think it is brilliant scent! It reminds me of Varvatos, but, something about it also reminds me of Chanel Allure - I am not sure what. I bought a set that contains shower gel, deodorant, body spray , and 3.4 EDT for 20 US Dollars. The scent lasts a long time and definitely smells of quality. I REALLY like the slight smell of grass in it and cinnamon. Notes are as follows:

Top notes of Bergamot, basil, and grass.

Middle notes of lavender, pear, and cinnamon.

Base notes of cedar, vanilla, and musk.

I am glad I have it. Another good job by Adidas :-)
