I am testing " Laura Ashley No 2" for the first time today. My sample is a micro mini approx. 2ml from a set of three (others are Emma and Laura Ashley No 1).
As this was released in about 1989 the sample is presumably about 20 years old.
The first notes to come off were what i call "expired" i.e notes of decomposition that many very old perfumes exhibit. i have found that once those burn off, it is still possible to get some idea of what it once smelled like. Next came the dry woody smell of dry plane tree leaves, which i thought was very unusual for top notes. It remains "dry" after an hour on my skin, but there are tiny fragments of sweet floral floating around, like specks of glitter amonst the leaves. So far it has no nasty bits. 11th January, 2011. |
