7- Violette is the seventh scent in Prada's exclusive line created by Givaudan's Daniela Andrier and only sold in Prada's boutiques. All the scents in this line share
1- an essential structure,
2- short formulas,
3- ouststanding raw materials...
4 - and tons of good taste, just spiked by little eccentricities that make these scents little marvels of sophistication and “understatement” (but they come in Lalique bottles...).
The eccentricity here lies in the fact that Violette is made up of heart/base notes only with no top (so please when you try this, give it a little time to evolve); not a girlie scent at all, neither a gothic romance, this scent succeeds in smelling both deliberately rètro in style, and extremely modern in texture. Sweet-sour cassis absolute, woody-powdery orris, green and extra-dry galbanum and touches of soft leather envelop an exquisitely clear violet note of unusual “push” and refinement. I see it on women and men alike; being a parfum concentration, it lasts quite a long with a discrete sillage. Definitely worth a try!
