Cruel Intentions

Right after the 1º spray we have a woody aroma mixed with a prominent dry vetiver note but nothing harsh in
a way that will hurt your nose, this fragrance tottaly opens in a soft way.

Trough time a distinctive smoky woody aroma kicks in leaving the impression that this is more of a mysterious Intentions than Cruel Intentions, and also I don't know why but i'm getting a suede smell in this fragrance, making me remember somehow of Daim Blond but not so feminine.

Not one of By Kilian's better efforts. I find Cruel Intentions very cloying with a synthetic smelling rose/orange combination that just does not work. The scent is pretty linear and has very good staying power. In this case, both of those are *not* good things. Not worth the selling price, and not a recommended buy at any price, IMO. I think By Kilian must have had "Cruel Intentions" indeed when they unleashed this on prospective buyers.

I don't know which kind of "Cruel Intentions" they had in mind but this composition resembles anything but cruelty. It's a pale woody/oriental with animalic hints (leather?), a well rendered rose note and a slightly smoky oud accord providing a little body. Just right after the opening there's a vanilla/violet accord that dominates the fragrance throughout. It's sweet and, while it never becomes overpowering, at the same time has a remarkable cloying power that resembles of those candied violet petals they put on top of maron glacé.

Overall Cruel Intentions is not completely unsuccessful but way too far from being exciting. Unisex.

This may be my favorite from the Kilian line. Opens up with a rather pedestrian orange blossom and bergamot. This quickly fades though and some floral notes appear in the heart. What finally sets this one apart is the base where the oud starts to come through. The styrax and wood notes are there to support the oud with a little touch of vetiver. The animalistic notes come through towards the very end of this fragrance. Like most of the Kilian line, this is so well blended that it is hard to detect single notes and takes a few wearings to get everything. It wears very close to the skin, but has really good longevity.

Cruel Intentions reminds me something ... can't put my finger on it. I get a bit of Encre Noir (Femme) with the rose & vetiver, but it's the styrax, I think ... or maybe oud. Puzzles me and causes me to take even more deep breathes of this fine fragrance.

I love this. Very well-balanced fragrance with just a hint of florals. I've had some difficulty wearing the sweet or boozy Kilian fragrances. However, I find Cruel Intentions unusual and right up my alley. Unisex for sure, maybe just on the femme side, if that.

I've sampled most everything in the sampler pack, and for me Cruel Intentions & Back to Black are full bottle worthy.

Highly recommend giving this one a try.
