yummy... there isn't too much to this one but there doesn't need to be... this is my third tommy bahama offering after the original and very cool, and i think all three are great scents (especially for the price), and each is signifigantly different. To me this is strictly a 70 degree F plus scent, as it really gets you in the mood for the beach and a cold beer. It's good that the bottles are cheap because you have to spray the shit out of this to get any sillage or longevity, but if you're not afraid to smack yourself 20 times with this stuff, this is what you get... The mandarin opening is a killer... it's not powdery or sweet it's straight up dowse yourself in orange juice citrus (which i actually love alot)... Give it about ten minutes and the violet kicks in and that's when it's off to sea... Unlike Bulgari's Aqua, which is all salt and rain and perfect storm type of deep dark purple (which i do love), this is blue skies, calm waves, and miles upon miles of crystal waters... The rum slowly creeps in, and it is reminiscent of dropping anchor in the bahamas, blending up a batch of frozen hurricanes, and watching the sun go down... This is NOT a ubermasculine chypre, nor is it a mind-blowing niche frag that will keep everyone guessing what amazing scent you are wearing. This IS a simple fragrance doing exactly what it intended to do... And for that reason I give it an absolute thumbs up 21 February 2009

I picked this one up for real cheap and was shocked at its greatness! I love this scent! It's very lemony accompanied with rum. It's extremely similar to Dior Homme Sport. Its so close that I actually returned sport to just keep this one. My girlfriend and I got to the point where we couldn't tell a significant difference. It's gotta real sharp spike to it that's zesty and fresh. It goes very well throughout the day long into a thick dry down that's pungent and sweet. You only need a few sprays of this stuff, because its strong. I don't how people get the impression that its weak. I've never had to reapply. Even though I bought this for a such a great deal, I would spend full price on this fragrance just to have it again once I run out. 20 January 2009

This is a boozy one that I enjoyed wearing. I first tried this one during the summer and found it to be a decent selection for the warmer days. This one was all over the place in the discount shops for really cheap for the 3.3 oz bottle so it's a real bargain for what you get. I wore this one a few times and liked it but not something I would wear regularly. It's definitely still fun to wear once in a while. 28 December 2008

Opens with a rumrunner, sweet and tart, then it's off to sea... the violet provides miles of open blue water. There's a touch of salt, but not as raucous as in St. Bart's margarita. There's an undertone of mellow wood on this vessel. The rum is a white, not the "dark, buttery rum", as Diego points out, in Tommy Bahama's namesake. This one is the south seas offshore, with a hint of flora in the distance. I would have liked to anchor a bit closer... a flash of frangiapani or laelia, stuck impudently behind an ear, would have been welcome. Significant development over the course of a wearing doesn't seem to be a feature of Tommy Bahama's scents. The fragrance makes a statement and stays with it. 17 December 2008

Definitely light, fresh, and floral; even astringent. I get laundry associations: dryer sheets? fabric softener? detergent? 17 November 2008

Versace - Metal Jeans. That's all I can really say. This stuff smells almost exactly like it. The bottle even has almost the exact same color. The color is so similar that I'd have a hard time believing that it was by mistake. To me its an enjoyable but very feminine-masculine scent.... If that makes any sense. Metal Jeans by Versace was the cologne that got me into wearing cologne when I was 20, the year M. Jeans was released. So I can't say I don't like it. It is a pleasant scent but I think for me its a little to whimsical. 11 November 2008

Floral, fresh, and airy. Good staying power and silage too. Good offering, TB may offer it as a special summer scent but this could easily be versatile enough for night time, fall, and spring. 24 August 2008

A light scent, and another Eau de Cologne like the Tommy Bahamas tend to be. Doesn't seem to want to last quite as long as I'd like, but it's also hard to douse yourself in this to the point of being offensive. The opening lime and mandarin actually struck me as grapefruit the first couple times I tried the scent (and they still do). Reminded me more of Issey Miyake than I expected, but though I'm not a big fan of L'Eau d'Issey, I actually find this pleasant. Otherwise seems fairly straightforward, with a clean watery, subtle violet sense settling in shortly thereafter. I don't get anywhere near the sense of rum from this as I do with the original Tommy Bahama Cologne Spray (which *really* conjures up a great dark buttery spiced rum for me). All-in-all a very clean scent, great for casual, warm weather. Like the other Tommy Bahamas I've sampled, this is the kind of thing that I think would actually make a great soap, so it's no surprise to me when I see they actually make them. Definitely in the category of giving a clean smell where someone could have simply used a premium soap, and it doesn't scream "cologne" -- I tend to like scents that fit the category. This is good, "clean," safe, and usable even on a daily basis, but doesn't impress me as much as the original Tommy Bahama Cologne. Think this one would go over better in warm weather and on a daily basis though, and dare say I might get some regular use out of it the remainder of this summer. Not shabby. Not mind-blowing, but not at all shabby. 05 August 2008

This is the second best to in my collection, next to Issey Miyake, and I love it. Mandarin. Violets. Rum. I actually like it just as much as Issey Miyake. They both have their own special style, and that special something about them. Set Sail St. Barts, is good too. Awsome. But this one last a little bit longer. I guess it's because it doesn't have too many notes in this one. The others they try to get you to smell everything, every little detail, but this one is straight to the point. Great one Tommy Bahama, I am definately stocking up. I wlike to wear fragrances that you can wear all year round, I found a few others I like. Versace Eau Fraiche, YSL: L'Homme. But this one and definately Issey Miyake is ALL-WAYS my favorite. Too many "copycats" out there, TB you DEFINATELY got my attention 30 July 2008

Definite bitter orange top note and the violets are "stinky" like they are in other frags and the rum note... well I guess it isn't a Tommy Bahama perfume without rum in it to portray the ocean. Very light and casual. Good for warm days but I would feel ill wearing this on those humid days where the air is thick. 13 July 2008

I couldn't wait to get my hands on this...but I was a tad disappointed. The first TB was a smokey yet attrractive manly fragrance. The second Very Cool, was indeed cool, icy actually, gave my nose a 'brain freeze' and i did not like it. The third was better, smells a lot like a margarita, and gives the impression of a good time. This fourth installment is like the second. It is cold and icy with a sweet manly edge. I think the violets are overpowering, and some people might like that. It can be addictive also, but for me it is a no. Now I am looking forward to the fifth version, I think I will like it. 10 July 2008

Wonderful scent,Tommy nailed it to the wall with this one. Longevity isnt that great but I tend to soak up most frags rather quickly. The fresh scent of limes are quick to hit my nose and very quickly I swear it turns into a coconut snowcone ,sounds to sugary but it is very subtle and enjoyable, shortly after the rum takes over and it seems to have a little sandalwood in the background. with a very plesant salty undertone, how to you get that!?! Its like setting sail to a cove by a beautiful island. Thanks Tommy! What a wonderful summer scent. 06 July 2008

This is everything I like about St. Barts and improved! Longer lasting, better opening, and better sillage. Awesome - a perfect scent for summer. 05 July 2008
