Reviews of Perry Ellis for Men (new)| odysseusm CanadaShow all reviews | A bit sweet, fruity, kind of odd. Raisins? Old tea bags? It is different from a lot of other things... I'll give it that. Seems somewhat edible, foody. And yet vaguely fresh-aquatic too. Others have noted the subtle melange at work here, I concur. Not my style at all, but it OK if you like that sort of thing. 6th March, 2011. |

But every once in while, a designer, though not deviating from the norm, just nails it and produces something that can be enjoyed by even the biggest perfume snob. 11th October, 2010. |
| Safetyjon United StatesShow all reviews | When I first tried this I had to have it. I bought it and used it a few times, and I noticed that I enjoyed it less and less each time. The last time I wore it, the sweet fruity/vanilla notes actually made me sick. It gave me a headache and made me feel very uncomfortable. I had to take a shower to wash it off. I've since given it away. I've never had a reaction like this with any fragrance I have worn. I can't endorse it. 12nd July, 2010. |
![]() The_Cologneist United StatesShow all reviews | To revise my initial review, this does not smell identical to Daddy Yankee, but they are reminiscent of one another. Daddy Yankee being more young and youthful, while Perry Ellis being more sophisticated. PE opens up with a very nice green apple and Black & Mild accord. Unique and well blended, and surprisingly the opening lasts considerably long. Projection is great, as is longevity, but be careful on the trigger, too much can ruin it. Especially due to its patchouli, amber and incense in the dry down, all 3 of those being major dominating notes. I get more patchouli than anything though in the dry down. The dry down is a little more old fashioned and outdated to me, while the opening is just wonderful. Now since owning a bottle and spending more time with it, this stuff does make me dizzy if I apply it wrong. I prefer this being sprayed on my clothing than my skin, it can get very cloying in the dry down which is something you don't see too often in a fragrance. Overall though it makes for a pretty good fragrance that you may wanna check out the next time you're at TJ Maxx or Marshall's. 3rd April, 2010. (Last Edited: 13rd July, 2010.) |
| Shifty Bat United StatesShow all reviews | The new Perry Ellis for Men is certainly nice. It's really not all that original or even 'signature,' but most people will find it 'nice.' It's an eminently easy and pleasant wear. The apple note from the top is very tenacious and sticks around till near the drydown for me. The middle of rose, orange blossom, violet leaves and cinnamon sounds great but isn't very distinguishable to my nose. The musks are soft and fairly well textured. But for me this one's all about the delicious vanilla note that permeates the whole creation. This is where Perry Ellis fits into my rotation - It boasts one of the most enjoyable vanilla-centric accords I've come across so far. This was a good blind buy. 25th March, 2010. |
