Red Sea (2007)

Reviews of Red Sea ![]() drseid United StatesShow all reviews | Not good. The first thing I noticed was a disgusting BO note that permeates the top notes and hangs around through the scent's lifespan. There has to be cumin in here somewhere, and a large dose of it at that. The cumin mixes with a dirty rose note, and cinnamon creating an odd, uncomfortable combination. Iris, sandalwood and musk join the party later on, finishing out the scent's development. This part is more pleasant, but the cumin remnants spoil the party. Longevity, projection and sillage are all average here. Bottom line is this is not a good scent, IMO. I strongly prefer other scents in the "Seas" collection, Yellow Sea in particular. 18th October, 2011. |
![]() derekp CanadaShow all reviews | Micallef's site lists the notes as "flower", orangeblossom, rose, iris, sandel wood (sic) and musc, all of which I can detect to some degree. Once things come into focus, a warm, sweet, slightly spicy rose dominates the scent, along with a hint of orange blossom. I would strongly consider this a unisex. Not my style, but very nice. 3rd October, 2009. |
| Scentsibility United StatesShow all reviews | Red Sea is overwhelmingly pungent at first - another funk/BO scent ala Kingdom - but more masculine IMO. Two hours into the drydown this has sweetened considerably on my skin and has ALOT in common with MKK at roughly half the cost. The sillage has dropped dramatically too... The notes (from the Luckyscent website) are neroli, cinnamon, rose, iris, sandalwood, and white musk. I would have sworn there was cumin in this when I first applied it. I did get the cinnamon and rose. If you like MKK but don't own it, this is worth trying, although it does become more of a skin scent than MKK. (If you put enough of this on to guarantee good sillage after a few hours you'd probably get arrested.) 9th January, 2009. |
