The best of the cocoa-patchouli numbers out there. Angel is of course the most famous, but in my humble opinion, too sweet and reeking of that mass-market artificial smell that gives away the fact that the stuff is synthesized by the tanker-truckload. So too, B&BW's Chocolate Amber, which may or may not claim a patchouli note, but is clearly in the same "non-candy cocoa" category.

Neonatura Cocoon on the other hand, has the dusky cocoa mystery done just right. In fact, the mystery is minimal, and it even dares to be happy, and just a tad comforting. Dry, dark cocoa powder and oakmoss, softened with perhaps a bit of musk? The patchouli is of the best quality, traveling as a mature and well-mannered companion to the other notes, not the attention-seeking eccentric that it can sadly become in other frags.

Definitely appropriate for everday wear, non-offensive for the office, and unique enough to make people turn their heads inquisitively.

This could easily be a niche market fragrance, poured into a more interesting bottle and saddled with an outrageous pricetag. Il Profumo's overly complex Chocolats would have some serious competition if that happened. Instead, Cocoon cheerfully defies expectations for it's cost, and delivers a clever and unique treat for mere pennies.

hrm. At least Yves Rocher is in France. I guess we can forgive it for being affordable as long as it makes up for that sin by being French.

this juice packs a hard punch! one spray had me gasping for breath. no one has mentioned this but i really get a strong "kahlua" (mocha liquor note)
a very affordable alternative to angel or another chocolate gourmand perfume.
sillage is intense as is the lasting power.

Neonatura Cocoon is a warm, earthy fragrance. Many people choose to wear this during the colder months, but I find that I am most drawn to it when I'm in the need for comfort--be it in December or mid-June. It has a mildly sweet scent mixed with an intoxicating aroma that's a must-have. It reminds me of spicy/woodsy, rich dark chocolate wrapped around toasted coconut and nutty almonds. A fine, cozy & comforting scent that's an accessory to any wardrobe.

Cheap and cheerful favourite from Yves Rocher. Dry and dusty cocoa (rather than chocolate) and earthy patchouli. Not a million miles from Lutens Borneo 1834; frankly I prefer Cocoon. A woody gourmand that leans towards the woody end of the spectrum and avoids the tooth-ache inducing sweetness of Angel and its like. Very cozy without being cloying.

I purchased this on a whim when I was ordering Rose Absolut; it was $3.00 for a purse-size spray of a half ounce. Turns out that the Rose didn't work well on me, but I totally fell in love with Cocoon. It's warm without being overly sweet, very much as BlackAmberMoon said, dry cocoa from the tin. I usually don't do well with either vanilla or patchouli, but the combination of the two is just lovely. All I can think when I wear this is that this is how skin should smell. I got back on the YR site and took advantage of the current sale price and ordered five more half ounce sprays for a grand total of $15.00 - and qualified for free shipping at that! The regular price for a 1.7 ounce spray is $40.00 (not that anyone would pay full price with the sales they always have), so I think my 3 ounces for $18.00 is quite a steal. This may be my default everyday scent for a long time to come. Love, love, love it.

This is my favorite scent. I love the way it smells, I get a lot of compliments on it. I have the lotion too, it's nice to take to work with me.

Cocoon is a comfort fragrance for me, but it's assertive, too. It smells very woody, earthy, and natural, and the dry vanilla is tempting, but not sugary. Vanilla-patchouli blends generally work beautifully with my chemistry, so Cocoon, with it's touch of cocoa, is a definite winner. It's not complex: just cocoa, vanilla, and patchouli, but it has depth, and a gorgeous dryness that makes it unique in the gourmand category. It is similar to Serge Lutens Borneo 1834, but it also reminds me of Coco Mademoiselle edt. The base of Coco Mademoiselle, smells somewhat similar in the drydown. Cocoon seems to be marketed as a women's fragrance, but it's perfect for men as well. The lasting power is incredible, but don't overspray this: the sillage rivals legends.

Yum. This manages to be both foody-sweet and earthy at the same time. The chocolate-caramel notes develop first on my skin and then the patchouli kicks in after about 20 minutes and continues to reappear now and then as the day progresses. I really enjoy this interplay between the sweet and almost dirty notes in this. The only drawback is that this fragrance does not have exceptional lasting power, however for the price it is an interesting, relatively complex and sexy fragrance that smells precious in the same way that a lot of higher end fragrances do. Not a bad buy at all, especially during YR's sales.

Cocoon is such a comforting scent. Smells like dry cocoa from the tin, with some nice wood notes and a touch of vanilla and patchouli. It's not overly sweet or loud - just right. First blast smells very earthy, but it quickly mellows to a soft skin scent. I like to put it on before I go to bed...very relaxing. A man could wear this easily, too. Can't beat the price, either!

An inexpensive gourmand scent, with notes of vanilla and chocolate and a touch of coconut, as well as musk and I don't know what else. For the price it's great and smells like something much more costly! You can get it at yvesrocherusa.com I believe.
