Harajuku Lovers - Baby (2008)

I enjoy powdery scents, so I had to give the powder-bomb Baby a try. It's relatively decent, although targeted to a young market. Even as a middle-ager it, I was fully prepared to purchase it for my own personal enjoyment. However, I didn't. It's synthetic, far too synthetic, for me to enjoy.

On its own, although pretty, Harajuku Lovers Baby is a little too powdery for my liking.

I'm sure it would smell wonderful on a child or a young girl, however on a woman it smells somewhat odd and out of place.

Often when I try a fragrance that I'm not overly fussed about, I'll mix it with another fragrance in the store. I just so happened to blend Baby with MOR's Marshmallow. I was really impressed with the result.

The sweetness from the Marshmallow and the powdery softness from Baby, created a beautiful, feminine, delicate and sweet scent which was absolutely divine.

This is a very soft powdery floral and my favorite of the 5 Harajuku Lovers scents. Very refreshing without any (heavy) fruity/citrus and green notes; a great summer's day scent. Yes, it does smell a little like baby powder, after the dry down.... but IMHO, it's not too baby-sweet. My only complaint is the lack of a serious lasting power of this EDT. On me, this lasts about 4 hours. (I'd prefer my best EDTs to last more like 6-8.) Maybe, they'll eventually put out a longer lasting EDP version?!

Luckily, I found a reasonably priced tester bottle, on Ebay and was able to transfer some of the juice into a purse atomizer, for easy re-application. (While the tester bottle is not as cute as the little dolly retail bottles, it's still a much better buy; $25 for 0.5oz or $48 for 1oz retail compared to my 3.4oz tester bottle at $32, including shipping. Hello!!!!!!)

Nauseating... Very over priced option if you want to smell like baby powder. Tried some on one day and the over powering baby powder smell really got on my nerves and it made my jacket smell for awhile.

I happen to LOVE this perfume! It smells exactly like a baby! Many people don't like it because of this fact, but you shouldn't dislike it because it smells like a baby - because its name is baby; go figure. I love the bottle, I love the perfume. I just wish it was more concentrated and lasted longer and was cheaper because 30ml for $60AU is a RIP OFF for a celebrity perfume. You could find much better value celeb perfumes such as paris hilton and britney spears which are often $45AU or less for 100ml. Apart from the price tag its good :)

I don't know where you would wear it though? Maybe at a picnic or something. Wearing it out to a club or party might attract creepy strangers who like kids..

I like it very much. Yes it smells like baby powder. But for me there's more to it than that. Just a relaxing pleasant scent that doesn't wrinkle my nose. I like to breathe deeply with my wrist near my nose. When I was a teenager I recall something called Love's Baby Soft, it is similar to that in my memory.
