Sahleb (2008)

I blind ordered this one. I was looking for organic perfumes, natural perfumes etc and did look through a lot of Sniffapalooza magazine issues. I found an article about Ayala in a back issue. It was about a different fragrance though. So I went onto her site. Sahleb was tempting to me. I went to Egypt 20 years ago and many times we drank Sahleb. It was so creamy, tasty and so yummi that I had to get this one.
The package arrived a few days ago and today I had enough peace to indulge into this beauty. Its lasting power on my skin is very good. I had samples of other natural perfumes which did not last at all. This one is long lasting and has a very nice smell. Authentic to me if I go by my memory. After I applied it I was soon back in Egypt, wandering through the alleyways. The scent is very creamy, not too sweet for my taste. Just right. I smell a good portion of Coriander in the opening and soon after that a buttery note accompanied by Orris and a hint of rose does show up. The vanilla in the base notes gives it a touch of a pudding. Not artifical, authentic and soft surrounded by the coconut. To me it is a nicely balanced fragranced. Not only suitable for the winter. It has the gourmand touch but unlike others it is not overpowering or heavy.
I am glad I added this one to my fragrance collection. Well worth the money IMHO
