It's basically the original minus the classy and understated finesse, plus overbearing synthetic sweetness. Fans of Givenchy Play might like it.

Someone please wake me up when the epoch of super dull and uninspired designer scents comes to its fitting end.

Damn, I am getting sick of all these one-size-fits-all watery masculines. Who's decision was it to emasculate men's fragrances? Please let me know so I can call someone in that area and pay him to jap slap the person(s) responsible.

The sickly cousin of Armani Code

When YSL released L'Homme, many of us here were disappointed because it lacked the typical cunning of previous YSL fragrances. However, it still managed to smell good and it's one of those scents that can be worn for pretty much any occasion. But La Nuit? It's mainstream pseudo-oriental synthetic floral at its worst. One spray on my wrist and it almost instantly became oppressively cloying, easily overpowering the Terre d'Hermes I was already wearing (no small task!). The fragrance that came to mind as the closest match to this was Armani Code, only with the citrus (the opening of Code always gave me that Orange Glo vibe) toned down and the florals amped up, only where Code stays dignified and reserved throughout the life of the scent, La Nuit became annoying and overbearing. I'll pass on this one.

Oh me likes! Me likes manymuchness! This basically is the original but with more oriental notes added (like the tonka). Very sophisticated and well blended and I do believe has a fair amount of natural content, well to my nose anyway!

For those who don't get the original I really suggest you give it another go, as I felt exactly the same for some time, untill I really got to know this. It's subtle and really rather lovely! One of the better mainstream scents around for men me thinks!

the similarity between this and armani's code is uncanny, so much so that the same review more or less fits both. warmth, subtle sweetness, sensuality and a hint of freshness are all combined into a very pleasant concoction that is unlikely to offend anyone. very nice, though possibly undistinguished if not exactly bland. that's the surprise here, given that YSL's offerings usually have bags of highly distinctive character.

La Nuit De L'Homme is not the night shift of L'Homme but actually just 2 hours of overtime. Frankly, there are better options in Coty (Stetson Black). People speak about the "unavailability" of YSL scents these days in stores, and this one like the need to bathe in it L'Homme is a scents that flirts with unavailability even while you are wearing it. More like shadows really, the time of day not clear: here comes cedar to the rescue. Really, can't really bash it, Le Neutral De L'Homme...

I don't remember the original all hat much aside from the fact I liked the bittersweet tonka bean. This seems to have a similar top but the base is cedarwoods and a woody grass. The cardamom sticks around for a while giving Nuit a darker overtone but towards the drydown everything lightens up with cedarwoods dominating. No bad. A little too subtle for that "night Out" kinda thing. F pour Homme Black, which is somewhat similar, does a "night out style flanker to the original" thing much better taking the original and making it the same but darker and giving it a passionate zing. La Nuit does not totally fail since it's not a bad scent (since I like cedar) but it falls a little short coming in fifth place in a ten racer race.

Reminds me of Pi fraicheur.
Not bad, but nothing new under the sun...

L'Homme was uninspired and dull and now an even more soporific flanker comes along. Top notes of bergamot and lavender, then cardamom and cedar finishing with a horribly sweet amber, van .....zzzzzzzz. If I've smelt this combination and the way it is blended once ......... you know the ending. What makes it worse, is that it is very loud and vulgar. Discussions on this fragrance at YSL must have solely centred on how much money they can pull in, you know -- generic = popular = sales. This house is going downhill fast.

I'm a fan of YSL's L'Homme so it was obvious that I'd gave this one a try. At first I didn't like it. The opening note resembles L'Homme but it's even more spicy. Soon it becomes rather strong on the vanilla. My girlfriend adores it so what the heck, I bought the 60 ml bottle. It's great in the evening or on cool/cold days. It certainly lasts longer than L'Homme but still not more than about 4 hours (unless you spray lavishly but which makes it too sweet). It's OK but L'Homme is still my favorite.

A welcome change to the underwhelming L'Homme. This takes the original L'Homme and adds a woody gourmandy vanilla. The overall feel is like a much much better BOSS Bottled aka #6, proving to be far less synthetic smelling that the BOSS. However, if you are familiar with L'Homme you can easily sniff it out of La Nuit.
I never liked L'Homme, just too boring and not catchy at all, very hard to love. La Nuit on the other hand is definately a put a smile on your face kinda frag, and the 'night' moniker is no gimmick...I can see me wearing this ona summer night to a formal occasion.
So, well done for fixing L'Homme, but being so close to BOSS Bottled, well...

The Bloomies SA and I agreed that this is a virtual quotation of Chanel Allure Homme. Allure may very well be my favorite fragrance of all time; therefore, it is worth further examination. In blind side by side testing, my somewhat brutish nose could not distinguish between the two on cards. An extended wearing may reveal the distinction, but I must admit to being shocked at the profound similarity. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I am a gigantic fan of L'Homme - it's still my girlfriend's favourite. I really wanted something along the same lines, but darker. And YSL has delivered.

It's gourmand, it's tobacco, it's floral, and it's citrusy all at the same time. It almost reminds me of raspberry - sour, sweet, a broad flavour, whereas the original L'Homme was simply sour and sweet like an orange (but complemented by the ginger.)

I'm a big fan of Dior Homme and if I smell really hard, I can almost smell it. It's great that YSL is taking notice of big successes like DH, and adding their own spin to it.

The longevity and sillage is also much more impressive than the original. I think they've listened to our complaints.
