Coach Leatherware (2009)

Looking for a good leather scent. This was pleasant enough on my first trial that I tried it again. To me, the fruit notes overwhelm any leather notes, if there are any. Am I wrong to think a cologne named "Leatherware" would smell a bit like leather? I would wear this in a pinch, but would not buy it.

Yes, Coach Leatherware hits you with a dry citrus blast very much like Eau de Rochas Homme (the reformulation). Not bad for a citrus chypre, but unfortunately it can be quite headache-inducing for me. As it dries down some moss and woods reveal themselves. The fragrance, despite being an Eau de Parfum, only lasts about 3 or 4 hours on me at the most.

I'd rather wear Eau de Rochas Homme, especially considering the price.

Leatherware is definitely a nice fragrance to wear. To me, the opening isn't too attractive, as it's a rather sharp and, as SirSlarty mentioned, harsh citrus scent. With that, once you let the top notes sit and mellow out, (after about 15-30 minutes), the fragrance really transforms into a balanced scent with hints of the top notes. For me, this is a very safe and grounded cologne. I can wear it at the office, as well as school. Longevity is not an issue for me as I applied this some 10 hours ago and can still smell it, although faintly, on my arm. The strong range seems to be between 6-8 hours though.

I would apply three sprays in total: one on each wrist/forearm, and one around the lower-mid neck.

I bought this stuff august 29, 2010., the opening has lemon ,but i felt the mandarin came out a lot more than the lemon, Very nice smelling tea notes about 45 min, later. overall nice fragrance, reminds me of Aveda pure formance for men. Lastly, the silage was a bit suspect, as I only got about 6 hours, at best. but again, very nice frag.

This is actually very nice, especially since I assumed it will be bad. SirSlarty is bang on. Dry lemons in the opening with a beautiful tea in the middle running the show right alongside the lemons. There is a little sweetness that I find palatable (just the right amount) and it does come off somewhat unique. The uniquness follows through to the dry down, a little lemon still lingering. At this point, there is an air of afluence about this fragrance.

It reminded me of Aramis Cool Blend but with more lemons. Cool Blend is very good, Coach even better. So I bought a bottle. Thumbs up for sheer elegance.

I tried this again in 100 degree weather, and the rush of dry lemons quickly gave way to something utterly familiar and lovely...couldn't place it then suddenly, BANG!
If it is hot enough the heart of this gives way to a 95% immitation of the magnificent L'Air du Desert Marocain (sheer genius from Andy Tauer) without the subtle fecal note in Tauer. Good enough for me and glad to have it.

I tried it & was impressed despite it didn't get much love on the Male Fragrance Forum.
I got a sample (Which led me to buying a bottle.) Reminds me a lot of Boucheron pour homme. I got great longevity out of it.

Initial Reaction: I love it!!!!!!!
Proper wearing reaction: Still Love It!!!!!!!
Price Reaction: Holy Cow!!!!! I still bought it.
