Reviews of Essential Sport

Thumbs up on Essential Sport . . . with a "try it before you buy it" disclaimer or warning. You might like this, and you might NOT especially if you don't appreciate the brightest new synthetic aroma chemicals on display and in full force. The aroma here is tart citrus, ginger, ice water accord (don't know what it is but is accurate), vetiver, patchouli and musk all floralized and synthesized to the max. These notes come out all at once with the dial turned all the way past loud. So if you put on just a small spray it will still be like Sweet Tarts through a siren blast. A pleasant sport/oceanic scented siren blast. But, Essential Sport is energizing and gets noticed by a certain type of person who is drawn into that smell. I can appreciate the attraction, and it is not poorly done, but it is not for me.

Combine the original essential with Acqua Di Gio and this is what you get. Extremely pleasant and lasts all day on my skin. Dries down masculine after several hours but keeps the fruity aquatic notes almost all day.

Very average aquatic that I've smelled too many times before. Not a bad fragrance, just too boring for me. 6/10

Nice fresh/aquatic fragrance, slightly metallic and a bit laundry (clean) powdery. After some minutes, a subtle sweet note appears and gives it a tropical vibe. Linear and casual as most of Lacoste fragrances. Better than the original. Longevity and projection are weak though.

Fresh and clean, this scent is great, has very nice longevity and is strong without being overbearing. The fresh grapefruit leaps out at you and the citrus gives way to a slightly heavy aroma without going overboard.

All in all, this is a great fragrance, I get many compliments on it (ironically by mostly guys) and it's probably my favorite aquatic scent.

boring smell with no projection...smells like so many other cheap generic frags.

Cons: projection
