Reviews of Black XS L'Excès for Him

Sweet, fruity scent. Reminds me very much of Polo Red but with a much better drydown and way better performance.

Projects well and lasts all work day.

Yes, it is similar to Black XS but I find this one slightly better with the lemon note. Some get a pineapple vibe because of the sweetness and I can understand why. The sweetness of this fragrance makes it seem more pineapple-like than lemon. Regardless, I think this is a nice fragrance, lemon or pineapple. Strawberry isn't listed in the notes but it's in there and I'm assuming it falls under "fruity notes." In the end, I don't think you can go wrong with XS or XS L'exces. I own both and can tell a difference.

Very similar to the original but Black XS L'Excès is very nice and bottle-worthy

This smells identical to YSL's l'Homme Libre. Maybe a little less sharp in the beginning, but the dry-downs of both are almost indistinguishable from one another.

Let's see. Take some five alive and spill it on your shirt and you'll get about the same effect.

I agree with Silentrich apart for his confrontation spumanti-champagne (as there are many Spumanti far better than many Champagne). Anyway, more lemon and less strawberries (that was not completely eliminated in my opinion).  The strong patchouli is there and is surrounded by aromatic and ozonic accents really notable mainly in the course of the first stages (a bit angular, ozonic and fruity in a tart way).  I would add that the listed  "woody notes" produce a sort of gassy simil-oudh undertone really powerful. I prefer the regular Black Xs on the whole but this is a more brash and highly daring synthetic bomb. Not bad but not a favorite of mine for sure.
