Myrrhiad fragrance notes

Reviews of Myrrhiad

Initially very interesting on first sniff - sweet, tea-like, woody, liquorice. However, even at the start the licorice notes are too dominant.

After what seems like 5 minutes but in reality probably 20-30 mins the only thing discernable left is licorice. And by licorice I mean the aroma chemical Anisaldehyde. It's the only thing I can detect and it remains all day. That anise, sweet almost floral scent. Which... isnt unpleasant or anything but it's extremely one dimensional and also for such an expensive perfume to smell of almost solely one cheap aromachemical is disappointing and boring. I'm glad I only bought a sample and not the real thing. I could make a copy of this in about 60 seconds and for 2% of the price.

Sorry, the sweet vanilla wrecks it for me. Very vanilla from the get-go, overpowering the interesting myrrh. The myrrh (when it can assert itself) is smoky and languid.
Everything is done is sweet, rich style. The vanilla. At times the myrrh takes on a balsamic note. The licorice is green and mysterious but gets sweet and heavy.
In the Serge Lutens style of sweetness, heaviness and gourmand.
Eventually the vanilla morphs into a rubber-vanilla chord. Not an improvement.

An irresistible semi-gourmand accord of boozy amber/myrrh, herbal-aromatic patterns (sage, fir resin, anise, coriander ??), vanilla and tobacco with a subtle anise-licorice liquorous vein, a velvety suede feel, undiscerned musky floral patterns (frankly I'm almost sure to detect iris and powdery violet) and dark spicy tea. A bomb at first impact when it ostensibly seems we are dealing with a massive gourmand. The suede vibe rises gradually on my skin representing a quite silky/smooth touch of real velvet. The tea influence manages to dilute the resinous density in order to provide a final fresh-soft and silky tea/amber/tonka caress. The Myrrhiad's dry down is a perfect bliss of heavenly silky/leathery coziness, talky poudree (powdery woods, powdery floral elements) and soft amber with a vague Heeley Iris de Nuit's lingering atmosphere.

A clean, aromatic, floral-resinous scent with a bold gourmand side of vanilla and tonka, on white musks and a pleasant, silky mily sea of bath gel. Green-balsamic breeze coming and going. A triumph of synthetic-drive coziness. The base is stuffed with – of course – myrrh, actually a more generic dusty resin accord, but that is the concept. Not much else. Delicate, a bit plastic, but decently nice. Surely overpriced.

A lovely accord of the balsamic facets of myrrh, amber, black tea , vanilla and licorice (which is quite pronounced).

It projects well for me and the longevity is good. I can't imagine wearing this in warmer months though.

Slightly less sweet and it would have been perfect.

Wearing Myrrhiad feels like being wrapped in a soft, paprika red cashmere scarf. The overall character of this fragrance is definitely warm and sweet, but not in a gourmand, syrupy or cloying way. The fabulous vanilla (or, better, the vanillas, as stated in the officilal note list) is tempered and contained by the bitter, medicinal and almost fizzy facets of myrrh, reinforced by coarse black tea notes, with liquorice undertones.
The fragrance is almost linear, relying on almost exclusively heart and base notes. Only the myrrh displays its different shades in time, from the sparkling, almost fresh- à La Myrrhe!- opening to its more resinous and bittersweet drydown.
Though the lasting power is quite good, projection and sillage are relatively poor, the fragrance staying very close to skin. On the whole, a perfectly comforting and warming fragrance, to enjoy burying your nose in the aforementioned red scarf in a cold day!
