Reviews of Kokorico by Night

The opening bergamot is a little screechy at first but quickly settles down to a generic, but decent citrus note. The ordinariness of the cirtus is improved when it combines with the rhubarb because the rhubarb lends a pleasant green sour tang to the opening... much more depth now. Then the cocoa enriches the fruit-vegetal accord even more with its powdery cocoa contribution. It has become quite likable. The base finishes off with the vanilla-like sweetness of tonka bean. All the notes are straight-forward, reduced-synthetic or non- synthetic regular notes… competent but not special. Kokorico by Night is an uncomplicated fragrance that works. I would say that, sillage-wise, it is more discrete than many similar fragrances even though it delivers a broader range of olfactory breadth than its published pyramid notes would suggest. Longevity I’ve found is below average. Although it’s a neutral to me, I can easily understand why others would desire it.

Opens as cookies with a cocktail. Must be the rhubarb that's throwing me off but it does remind me of some kind of a mixed drink. Otherwise, it's pleasant enough at the beginning. Drowdown is better. After the citrus goes away, you're left with something sweet, smooth and woody. Seems better for colder weather, gives off a warmth, mixed with sweetness.

KOKORICO by NIGHT an unusual oriental vanilla fragrance, that becomes warm and comforting and is never overbearing, just wants to make people come a little closer to sniff. This one is more sweet and Romantic than the original. It soon goes sweet but never cloying like some of oriental vanilla scents and rich but never other words Voluptuous,Cozy,Warm,Earthy and Magnetic.

Strong at first Then rhubarb and cacao make way for a soft base with tonka bean and woody notes make a warm cozy scent that really is not femine at all and is not overpowering. This composition is intensely carnal with a lively hint of sophistication that stays close to the skin but elicits favorable comments from those who come within its reach.

This EDT has sensual warmth.Perfect for AUTUMN/WINTER.A sinfully delightful fragrance it can be worn for Evening wear as well as Romantic Occasion. The bottle is a work of art. However both KOKORICO are so far LE MALE and FLEUR du MâLE for me but this designer is always darling for me.

Sillage?Better than the original.

Longevity?Good on my skin.

Surprised nobody had reviewed this one yet.

Kokorico Night is quite reminiscent of the original, only better. MUCH better. The original has a very nice dusty/dry cocoa note, but is overwhelming with the sharp cedar dry down.

The Night version here starts off smoother, creamier. Opening up with a nice blend of citrus and rhubarb, transitioning into a creamier cocoa, although still somewhat dry, not the same exact cocoa note as the original. I do get the cedar dry down like the original, only this one is so much better and much less sharp. Likely because there is the sweetness from tonka in the dry down here.

Although I don't think this version is as unique and in your face as the original, I find it much easier to wear, which warrants a thumbs up for me. I prefer this to the original.. and there are certainly similarities.
