My easy favorite from the Zents line. A masculine woody chypre topped with bright violets and lavender with a perfectly executed leather note out in front. It also features a rather forward mace note, so it's got that 80's pie spice/chickory vibe going on.
To be fair, this is clearly designed to smell familiar. It could be compared to scents like Havana (but with leather added and the 80's chypre elements turned down), but it's most obvious debt is to Polo. If you can imagine a richer, stronger, better Polo with that silly metallic lavender replaced by really good leather, you have a good idea how Ore smells.
This is a soapy-clean, simple (even innocuous) scent. It has very light violet notes. Delicate, slightly sweet, feminine in style. It gets a bit sweeter and heavier in the dry-down. Nothing special, nothing problematic.
Looking at the base notes, I half expected a bay rum chord at some point. Nope, nowhere to be found.
