    Surprisingly Good

Surprisingly good - really good- modern twist on a classic 80s powerhouse type platform. The loudness of the 80's platform is tuned down and a nice, berry/sage/bergamot/civet/cedar set of notes is overlaid and made prominent.

Pros: Pushes all the right olfactory buttons
    Cons: none

A superbly sensual, sexual, animalic, "dirty" scent for men that is irresistible to both sexes. A true aphrodisiac, with leather, citrus-scented sweat and warmth in its aura.

I am truly amazed there are so few reviews for this wonderfully refined, masculine scent.

It's one of the 8 I own and wear constantly.

First edit - 2/11/14 - after just sampling YSL's Kouros from 1981, I can safely say ES is a pretty close copy of that iconic scent. Still one of my absolute favorites for its unabashed celebration of the male body and just plain sex.

Ingredients thanks to Barbara Herman for Kouros, but worth mentioning here due to the similarities between the two scents:

Top: Artemesia, Bergamot, Coriander, Clary Sage
Middle: Jasmine, Carnation, Iris, Geranium, Patchouli, Vetiver, Cinnamon
Base: Oakmoss, Honey, Leather, Musk, Tonka, Civet

A delightful scent reminiscent of 70's - 80's powerhouses but maybe a little tamed.
A spicy citric opening that gives way to a woody (cedar?) kinda sweet heart with hints of leather and as times progresses the woods lose some sweetness but the spices still hang on and something that reminds me of patchouli (but not so sure t is actually patchouli)raises its head for a lovely drydown. Sillage is adecuate and logevity not bad (after about 3 hrs it becomes a very close to the skin scent) and I would had liked to last a little longer than it does.
