Reviews of Rose Anonyme

This is a beautifully-crafted rose, more complex than others. A different take on rose and oud. Full-bottle-worthy in my opinion. Sillage could be better, but longevity is good.

Rose Anonyme pulls off what I have only thus far experienced in the now woefully rare Arena di Roma - A quiet Oud. The blend of rose, bergamot, and soft spices makes the whole smell more than a little like potpourri, but in a pleasant manner the likes of which I would normally associate with Histoires or Strange Invisible Perfumes (Lyric Rain in particular). Compared to the usually straightforward and simplistic scents being churned out by Atelier this comes across more like a proper designer fragrance. It is soft but warmly radiant, it doesn't change much during its lifespan, the ultimate drydown is a bit banal, but the overall experience is one of fleeting pleasure and exuberance, and I like that plenty. Anyone who has enjoyed smoking blue lotus should give this one a wear.

An inky, smoky rose makes its signature on vellum. The penmanship reflects a confident hand, with its restrained, defined flourishes all within bounds of propriety. Neither too louche nor too lush, this firm rose cologne's dark character is countered by its translucent clarity. A little sweet, a little green, a little dusky. Shadowy in a way that feels like a reprieve. Those looking for something more tenebrous or luminous best look elsewhere.

If I could give this Thumbs up on top of the Thumbs up, I would!!!

Absolutely STUNNING! What else can be said of this........other than, a plain and simple masculine Rose and one of the best out there!!

The heart notes gives me the impression of a very expensive version of Scrubbing Bubbles (bathroom cleaner). When it is sprayed initially, you get bergamot and a very dark rose, the rose is somewhat rose and incense type, not your fresh garden rose. About 10 minutes later, there are sweet incense type of floral scent mixed with the scent of scrubbing bubbles, that clean smell when you clean shower room. It doesn't smell bad, it is very very clean and subtle floral with incense. It didn't work for me solely because I like feminine fragrances more than unisex. Also I'm not a fan of incense at all.

Starts with some fresh notes that leave quickly the way to a rose that leans to the dark side rather than the fresh or syrupy one (which makes it perfectly unisex) with a bit of incense and the western clean/synthetic kind of oud. The rose is not center staged as the composition is blended so that it's not a rose soliflore. There are some fruity notes that get mixed in the heart which makes the fragrance playful and brightens it up. The drydown comes with a clean patchouli and a powdery base thrown in the mix and, as a whole, the fragrance is mostly linear with minor shifts from top to base that give small nuances rather than big changes. The longevity is surprisingly long for an Atelier fragrance.
