The gentleman with the first review nailed it with "new car smell"
Sample card has: "The fragrance no woman can resist" (!)
Depends what the reaction is I suppose, she might be forced to leave.
It has two types of pepper in it... that's quite peppery.
Straight out of the vial it is perfumed in a classic feminine way, it's the dreaded bergamot. This is a lot like Cartier Declaration with less vetiver and sharper fruits, so I like it more
Notes coming through:
Bergamot, too fem for me as always
I do get the grapefruit, sharp and realistic, very nice
Citruses seem balanced, the grapefruit persists well
Pink peppercorn/pepper, yes, a rosy spice
Coriander (seed), probably not
Patchouli, not really - the vetiver is stronger
So I'm looking for the cedar, but I think the benzoin camphor smell is the main base note here
This is surprisingly resinous, which is working well with the citrus duo
Rubbing the dried area releases some quality resin vapours
What is that new car smell? Is it the camphor?
It's definitely fresh
This is strictly for office-wear, this is not casual
Generic but not more on the quality side
I don't know where the "new car smell" comparison comes from. Lomani Spirit Platinum smells almost exactly like Terre d'Hermes. Check out the notes:
"Top notes are bergamot and grapefruit; middle notes are pink pepper, coriander, pepper and woody notes; base notes are patchouli, cedar, vetiver and benzoin."
Sound familiar? Well this stuff smells VERY familiar. Compared to my TdH 2012 bottle, Platinum is slightly more earthy and woody. Performance is good. I highly recommend to those who wear TdH often and don't want to pay a lot.
I think the attempt here is to give a new car smell. They do this pretty well. It literally smells like a new car - it's a fresh scent, has some metal or something in it, and I get coconut sometimes, not as a note that stands alone, but that harmonizes w/the goal of the rest of the fragrance.
I'm not sure many women will go for this, but this is definitely a guy's scent.
The new car smell remains linear throughout the day, but softens up to something more palatable after about an hour or so.
The longevity on this is also really good. In fact, the whole AB Spirit series has very good longevity & sillage. IMO, the quality of the longevity & sillage makes these scents at least worth trying--especially for the price. These will all last a long time because you don't have to use very much each time you wear it. Definitely worth the money (aside from the Brad Pitt wannabe inside the box that is modeling his new car).
