Reviews of Wit

Wit is a lovely springtime floral, light-hearted and pretty, with a lot of dewy, leafy green making it natural and garden like. The light lemon-souffle floral opening is memorable. I've never smelled daphne, but Wit is like white lilac, wafting honeysuckle, slightly honeyed, and soft. It has a natural unstructured feel, possibly from bay laurel. Laurel is such a neutral foil for garden scents.
It has a jasmine and mimosa heart which coalesces into a more focused fragrance. From a gentle light opening it becomes bright, pretty and sweet (in the non-sugary sense). But the green leaves are stil there, so it keeps the feeling of garden florals, which I like.
It has only the lightest of bottoms - a bit of creamy vanilla, a little bit of hay or dried flower. But it never loses its lightness in the dry down - this is a bright soft airy floral from beginning to end. It's longevity is admirable - I could still smell it on my skin after eight hours.
I appreciate Wit didn't resort to lily of the valley. I don't care for the muguet note. There is a hardness about it that goes counter to the feel of delicate springtime florals. Wit showed the possibilities of spelling 'springtime' without resorting to the usual notes, especially with the daphne. They really get points for this.
The name is great, I like it, yet it seems mis-applied or wasted on this fragrance. I was looking for a certain drollery to it that wasn't there. This is instead a light, bright walk in the garden, natural and uplifting. Charming would have been a better name.

I wanted to love this. I got almost none of the mandarin or lemon in the opening. The scent moved instantly to sweet, white florals and vanilla on me. Too sweet for me to wear.

Wit opens with a bright & lemony floral accord, both sweet & tart, with a cool, leafy feel. As it settles into the heart, l detect a clean jasmine, chilly narcissus & lightly powdery mimosa. After ninety minutes, there's a soft, smooth vanilla ice-cream note in the base. Three hours in it settles very close to the skin, & fades out after around seven hours.
l had to try this one, as l loved the scent of a daphne bush that grew in the garden of the last house l lived in. l can't say for certain whether this fragrance captures that scent, as l don't have any around to smell, but l'd say the opening is fairly close. This impression only lasts around fifteen minutes, but as a whole this is a very lovely & pretty spring fragrance.

Charming jasmine and mimosa come forward tempered by the green Mandarine and lemon opening. Fresh, white floral- dignified but playful. I usually don't care for mimosa but here it takes it up a notch to a slightly edgier space. Without it, it would be a little too creamy and predictable. This is definitely sweet, but not powdery. Tangy and vanilla musk keep the whole composition precise and spring-like.
