Reviews of Perry Ellis Cologne for Men

Nice, bright, Bleu de Chanel opening. Not as rich but smells really good.

Giving a thumbs up because I liked it while it lasted and so did the wife.

Projection was above average for the first 1-2 hours. Scent lasts 4-5 hours on skin but much longer on clothes.

I got a mini set of the four for only $15 at a local Marshall's department store. Getting that, now I have an excellent, first-hand experience of the four flankers from a house I have been curious and respectful about for decades.

Perery Ellis Cologne for men is a decent, average fragrance in the four-flanker Perry Ellis set. Musky, fresh, a bit piny (a la the fir)...nothing seriously unique, yet it is pleasant and very safe for everyday casual wear.

Among the four - Citron, Cobalt, Cologne, and Red - Cobalt strikes me as the most wearable and memorable. Cologne, well, sort of reminds me of the original Perry Ellis 360 for men (also light blue).

Perry Ellis the Mall Frag. Definitely one for the Abercrombie crowd. I enjoy the fern-like mint and fir duo but could do without the obnoxious and now ubiquitous cardamom and synthetic wood.

Yes, this is a Bleu de Chanel rip off. The opening smells pretty much like BdC, but it isn’t as rich or complex, and it fades into the mid-notes much more quickly. The middle accord is thinner, a bit more herbal than BdC. And the bass gives me significantly more pepper than BdC has, as well as significantly less length of performance.

This is not a bad scent, but its accords are not as rich and complex as is Bleu de Chanel; nor does this one come anywhere near the performance of Bleu de Chanel, after all, what is remarkable about BdC is its ability to carry a quality aqua-aromatic scent for a full six hours. I’d be lucky to get two hours out of this one.

Still, if cost is important, one could do worse than this Perry Ellis offering.

Perry Ellis Portfolio in the tall thin silver (plastic) bottle reborn.

As I was sampling this I was wondering why it was so familiar, then I remembered why. Portfolio is a minty cold pear fragrance and this is too. The exception is the presence of orange peel in the opening and mid notes. On clothing and paper the orange is dominant and maintains a candy quality. On skin however, at least my skin all I get is PEP.

Thumbs up only because PEP was unique and this is too AND you can get them for not much online. For an inoffensive office or evening scent the price point is well on point.

Smells similar to Bleu de Chanel without being as rich or strong. Also, missing a few notes. Lasts on my skin for maybe two hours & I was never sure it was projecting much. For that, Perry Ellis Cologne is a pass for me.

Update: They sell this fragrance at Macy's for $65! Please don't get ripped off at the counter! This doesn't project and can't hold a candle to Bleu de Chanel.
