The President's Hat fragrance notes

Reviews of The President's Hat

One of my favorite. A lot of incense, and vanilla, with a good dryness. Nothing too sticky or sweet.

Excellent resinous-smokey fragrance from an amazing niche (for real) "intimate" british brand inspired by art and poetry. The President's Hat's mystic aura conjures me immediately the first Etro's formulations (of the 90's) I mean scents a la Heliotrope, Messe de Minuit or Patchouly (which I see all ideally blended in here) with all their charge of luxuriousness, mystery, molecular mystic dustiness and aristocratic resinousity. Really resinous concoction and a real ode to the note of opoponax, in my humble opinion. The myrrh is indeed supremely resinous, fumy, realistic and almost edible in its notable (by soon) combination with spicy vanilla. The general atmosphere is so aristocratic and decadent..., so peppery-spicy, ...he main note (opoponax) is indeed probably combined with glorious bergamot, earthy patchouli, warm ambergris, cinnamon/cloves, pungent cistus, wax, a touch of reeky olibanum and woodsy resins in a mix almost sticky and liturgical. ASAP Mecca Balsam jumps on mind as well for several of its facets. It seems to be inhaling the intense burning aroma of secret tibetan rituals or ceremonies in which they use to cremate the sticky resins, waxes and olibanum in order to arouse the meditation. The dry down is gradually more properly boise with a soothing and darkening oakmoss supported by fir resins, cistus, vanilla and probably a touch of vetiver. The fir resins-cistus combination provides a really intense (almost pungent) sticky-woodsy perfume while balsams and vanilla finally imprint a sort of almost creamy consistency. The texture is anyway surprisingly complex for an highly resinous artisanal aroma (dusty, balmy, earthy and sticky at once). The President's Hat is (despite a minimal welcome inner touch of synthetic) an amazing example of really artisanal genuine perfumery.
