Black Heart fragrance notes

Reviews of Black Heart

I get a slight bit of a eucalyptus note. Smoky cardamom and pepper. Woody sandalwood and generic incense. There is a slight spiciness with the cinnamon. Overall, this smells like a campfire.

Imagine the same birch-tar driven smoky accord of Santa Maria Novella's Nostalgia paired to a warm, kind of spicy woody bone structure and you get close to what Black Heart V.2 smells like. It's less *industrial* than the Santa Maria Novella and it avoids the clean musky base that let several Nostalgia's potential lovers down but after the promising opening it quickly turns into a nondescript and pretty uninspired woody-balmy thing with barely perceptible smoky undertones. It smells nice overall but it falls apart really too soon to my tastes.

Smoky fragrances have offered way better takes on the main theme (Bois D'Ascese and Comme Des Garcons Tar are still unbeatable) and I guess a bit more courage would have played in the fragrance favor. Nice and kind of forgettable at the same time.
